GameSpot (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/batmanarkhamasylum/news.html?sid=6214496&tag=topslot;img;1&mode=previews) and GamesRadar (http://www.gamesradar.com/xbox360/batman-arkham-asylum/preview/batman-arkham-asylum-hands-on/a-2009073016460902046/g-2008091217244586002) have each posted a hands-on preview of Rocksteady Studios' it-can't-come-soon-enough-for-me action game, Batman: Arkham Asylum. GamesRadar:

Think of a great superhero game. No, not a good one — there are plenty of those around — but one as essential as, say, Grand Theft Auto IV or BioShock. You’re struggling, right? That’s because there aren’t any. Or rather there weren’t any until Batman: Arkham Asylum came along. After an extensive hands-on, exploring the majority of the enormous Arkham Island – we’ve come to the conclusion that not only is this Batman’s best game to date, but quite possibly the best superhero game ever made. A bold claim, but one we think you’ll agree with the moment you take your first tentative steps into the foreboding darkness of Gotham’s legendary loony bin.
Warning: There's a few minor spoilers in the articles.

That's good to hear. My sister is a big time Batman fan and she's been looking forward to this.

Of course there is a classic, essential super hero game. It is called "inFamous" and it is pure awesome.

Infamous hasn't been out long enough to be called a classic. I'll have to give that title to Freedom Force.

One could argue Batman isn't even a super hero.

But yes, Infamous is great... and I am starting to anticipate this game now, despite how much I rather dislike the character design.

Batman is actually much more heroic than say, superman. Superman knows that practically nothing can kill him. So when he breaks up a bank robbery or whatever it's not really all that heroic. Kinda ho hum really.

Batman however could possibly die. Every time he goes out. I'd cay that takes a lot more courage or heroism.

So it is Batman who is the true Super Hero.

Spiderman 2 was an incredible game. I don't like the claim that Arkham Asylum is the first 'superhero' game to go beyond being just good.

I like more traditional Harley, but both are cute.
<shakes head in shame at commenting on attractiveness of comic character>
