See the shocking details in this thread (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9131).

Contrary to previous rumors, a Human Head employee let us know that they do in fact have at least one 360 Development kit. Human Head is the developer of Prey.

It is 3D Realms that is without the dev kit. They are the developer of...er....Duke 3D.

I just wanted to get this posted up again since we've had so many news posts today. It kinda got lost in the shuffle but I've seen it reported incorrectly on numerous other sites.

Oh god, does this mean Duke 3D is delayed for the 360? No!!!!! I was expecting it by 2010.

the question about how anyone at 3d realms has time to blog when they should be...y'know, finishing duke nukem forever, remains unanswered

Somebody get 3DRealms some dev kits STAT!!!!

It would be a shame if DNF development fell behind schedule because of this!

Duke what, now?

At this point, if it EVER comes out, that'll be nice. But the anticipation I had for this game has long since evaporated. =(

How 3D Realms continues to be a going concern, I have no idea. I mean, I'm glad it IS, but only for the sake of the people who may still be working there who need jobs to put food on the table. But how the company survives is beyond me.

So that is where the money I gave to that nice Nigerian man went.

Miller and George Blowhard need to accept that they are distributors and not designers. They need to get comfortable with that. 'Cause that's what they are.

All joking aside, some of my best LAN memories from middle school and high school were on that first level of Duke3d. Admittedly, connecting to a game and getting the whole thing set up was comparable to shoving a pine cone up your ass, but once it got rolling... hot DAMN that was fun deathmatch.

I have fond memories of laying out about 30 pipe bombs from the little cubby hole next to the elevator leading to the arcade... then I'd go out and drop 1 pipe bomb out where players leaving the rest room/entrance theater would see it and think it was spare loot floating around. The number of times I'd be sitting there, holding back the laughter, while someone comes around the corner, and I literally hear them say "oooo, free loot"... then they slowly turn to the left and say "Oh.... shiiiiiiiiiit." And BOOM. And yes, all our 486's would lock on that much explosive kamikaze crazy shit....

Ah, God, the memories.... /sniff

Some of my best memories were with the orig dukes.

3DRealms whines about not getting X360 dev kit while Human Head gets one.

Pathetic.

They better not release Duke Nukem Forever unless it is the definitive fps. It will never live up to the hype that it has created by all of these delays.

I think I'm safe in saying that it will NEVER live up to people's expectations. Not with Half-Life 2, F.E.A.R., etc. out there already. My theory is that they keep on restarting the development due to the relatively superior quality of the FPSes being released. The market has grown vastly since the days of the original Duke, and 3D Realms are quaking in their developmental boots.

3dRealms has to be so out of money it hurts. There's no way their releases generated enough income to last this long, and there's no way they get VC from investors...

Unless I'm missing something. Which is always possible.

Max Payne, Max Payne 2, various Duke console games, Prey, Duke Nukem the movie, Shadow Warrior and... oh ya, Duke 3D. All of these are giving them revenue in some way.

I honestly have no idea what they could possibly be doing on the game in all this time. I mean lets think about it, they announced prey a bit later....dropped it, now somebody else is making it, and really all it is going to be is what they originally said the game was.

I don't even remember if there was supposed to be anything particularly revolutionary about DNF 5 years ago, except that people were excited for a new Duke game.

Not anymore. Even if 3d Realms were to release DNF like tomorrow, I can truly say that not many people would buy it. The hype, the long delays, the bullshit, and no news has basically killed it. They have to start a new IP to basically come back into the market, and it's not even made by them.

It could be the same for Team Fortress 2. But then again, I could be wrong.

<----- tard.

So I buy Max Payne, I buy Max Payne 2, I love both of them...

But, um, me? Yeah, tard. I forgot 3dRealms was on that. Methinks they may have a dollar or two in the bank.

/sigh

Does anyone have a tard crown/hammer image they can throw at me? I think I deserve it. :)

You're really wrong but its alright, im sure you will come around in due time to support 3drealms.

Like I said yesterday:

Of course 3D Realms doesn't have a 360 Dev kit.

They only give those to game developers.
