Over on Gaming Whore (http://www.gamingwhore.com/), I have a Q&A with Mark Jordan, the designer/creator of Armada Online (http://www.armada-online.com/phpbb2/index.php). AO is a online-only sequel to the Dreamcast classic, Armada. Here's a snippet:

MJ: The game universe is vast. You can relate to the universe from a starmap. You can click on an X,Y coordinate and warp to that location. Most locations you warp to are infinite in size once you arrive. You can chart out areas of interest that appeal to you. There are also 12 areas that are more compact and tend to have tighter strategic goals. When you land on a planet, it is a finite area to explore.
You can read the entire article over at Gaming Whore (http://www.gamingwhore.com/item/2006/1/24/armada-online-q-a), and I hope you enjoy it.

Wow, I put so many hours into Armada, I kinda thought I was the only person that liked it. It wasn't a bad game to pull out of the bargain bin...

Heh, I frigging LOVE Armada. Since it's inspired by Starflight, that kind of explains why. It's such a FUN game, though. I still play it regularly.

Wow, that brought back memories. I may have to go pull the DC out of the closet soon.

Armada was one of the truely first fun four player games for the home consoles. I thought this project was canceled. This rocks, as I was just playing as the Nomads. Progression of this game could lead to one serriously awesome game.
