While Twitter and Facebook integration won't be part of the next Dashboard update, Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/xbox-live-to-get-twitter-before-xmas) has word that we'll get it at some point this year, before Christmas.
Microsoft has said that the Twitter and Facebook applications planned for Xbox 360 will be separate applications rather than part of another broad dashboard update.
Microsoft marketing type James Halton, speaking at an event earlier today, told Eurogamer the company is targeting an "autumn" date for integration of the social networking / tedious showing off sites, but wouldn't narrow it down.
i don't use facebook and twitter is meh.

Thrilling :\
I have a computer to use facebook and the Raptr client allows my xbox live data tag to be used as my facebook status if i was annoying enough to want to do so.

Yeah, I don't really get into the social networking scene, but if I did it'd be kewl. It seems to me that Twitter is made for console integration.

I know Microsoft has a stake in facebook but did they buy out twitter at some point and I didn't hear about it? Where the fuck is you tube integration?!?

don't use either, but if others love it, great, as long as its optional crap, not some like the avatar crap.

what about last.fm, dammit! since they announced this streaming service from MS it has me worried they're ditching those plans...

Let me guess: Without reading the thread, there are actually people in here bitching about these OPTIONS.

I´m glad these are coming. Don´t really use them, but more features are available.

Speculation: Microsoft just buried Soapbox (a service I'm entirely unfamiliar with, and so may very well be mischaracterizing here...), their apparent YouTube alternative. Perhaps this might lead to less institutional opposition to adding a YouTube program to the 360.
That's if there is any such opposition. As much as I don't care for people slapping their inane rants to camera on the Internet, it'd be very interesting if MS were to allow people to use the 360 camera to create and upload videos to YouTube. Or perhaps include some universal game recording feature accessible from the in-game Dashboard, which could then upload to YouTube.
Now excuse me before I start talking completely out of my ass here.
Facebook and Twitter on 360? Ok then. More excuses to use the chatpad I suppose. I do love that silly little thing.
