Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net) has the details (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=62608).

Yoshiyuki Oyama, character designer on forthcoming GameCube title Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, has revealed that arch nemesis Ganon is about to make a comeback.

In an interview with Nintendo Power magazine, Oyama said: "No discussion of Twilight Princess' enemies can end without mentioning Ganon.

"I know that everyone's wondering what's going on with Link's old nemesis. All I can say now is, we're preparing more than you could possibly ever, ever, expect..."
Suh-weet!

Well as much as I love Zelda, isn't Ganon comming back kind of a given? The only one of all the Zeldas I can think of without him is Majora's Mask.

Unless they mean the original Ganon and not Ganondorf (is there even a difference?)

While I was playing Shadow of the Colossus, I couldn't stop remarking to myself what a new Zelda might be like with bosses of that scale (or size). Needless to say, I'm very interested to see what is done with The Twilight Princess.

Yeah, I was never too clear on that as well...

I've grown used to Nintendo's "surprises". He's gonna be cell-shaded, just you watch. ;)

Let's hope the final battle against him is a little more exciting than the finale of Wind Waker (don't get me wrong, I loved the story elements of it). Something more on the order of Ocarina of Time would give me the warm and fuzzies.

Oh Nintendo, you cruel mistress. You keeping hitting me, and then you make another Zelda, and I come back to you, thinking, "They only hit because they love."

They're the same person. The beastial Ganon started his life as Ganondorf, king of the desert thieves. The Triforce of Power turned him into Ganon, whose appearance has varied from game to game.
Go play Zelda 64 again; when you beat Ganondorf, he transforms into Ganon.

Maybe what they're trying to say is that he's not going to show up in a human form this time around; ever since Zelda 64, Ganon has always had a human appearance. Perhaps they're simply going to stick with a hulking bestial form for this game...

This is the only game that will get me playing videogames again (and it will probably just be until I finish this one, then back to my hiatus). Real life can take a break then.

Maybe Ganon will form an alliance with Link! He'll be a friend like...like Tingle! But only much cooler and a bit less flamboyantly gay.

I'm just glad to hear that Twilight Pricess will be more difficult than other recent Zelda games. Did anyone else think Wind Waker was way too easy? As awsome as all the 3D Zelda games are, they are a bit easy for my tastes. I can't wait until this game comes out (US release of April 15 according to IGN). Need...time...machine...

Just so you know, the title of this post is horribly misspelled.

More than I could possibly expect

I once read a timeline of the Zelda stories, and the all elude to Link's demise....

Windwaker's intro talks about Hyrule calling for the Hero a second time, but the hero never came.

If this is to be the mother of all Zeldas, perhaps Link should finally make the ultimate sacrifice for Hyrule's sake? How awesome would that be? You would actually get to see Link fall, and be honored as a legend in his death. Supposedly Link's adventure (Zelda II) I heard is actually the latest installment in the timeline of Link, it would be exciting to see his chapter finally end

Link's Awakening, Minish Cap, Four Swords Adventure were all sans Ganon. Also the Oracale games, for the first one you play, but then he's in the carried over game.

Also Zelda II only realy has him when you get game over, so I geuss he's not in that either.

I for one was disappointed when Nintendo mentioned that Tingle will not be in TP. I really hope that changes.

It figures you'd like Tingle! ;)

I found him creepy, from the way he acted and spoke to his garish fairy-imitation outfit.

I just hope TP pulls everything together story wise. Nintendo lost me after the snes version. mainley because I havn't been able to play any of the others all the way through for one reason or another.

Thankfully a friend of mine gave me his cube and wind waker so I can finally play it.
Does it ever explain where Link is?

Sort of. Windwaker takes place after Ocarina of time, in the future. In other words, the Link you knew in Ocarina or any previous versions has passed on.

I've been playing Wind Walker with my son and really enjoying it. The difficulty level is perfect for a seven-year-old. In fact, he still has me do some of the more challenging boss fights since he's reflexes on the Gamecube aren't quite up there yet.

The videos of TP look amazing and I hope they don't make it too difficult. My biggest gripe with all the console games is that you have to play for longish stretches as you can't save everywhere. For RE4, I had to negotiate time with my wife to watch the kids for an hour or two at a time.

That sound very interesting, maybe there is a chance that would happen in Twilight Princess, i really hope so.. :D .
Maybe they will finally start to change the same cycle of the game and do something new like Revolution ;) (if you know what i mean :) )
Anyway i'm looking foward to play this game as soon at is release :)

Hey, I don't like him just because he's gay. Well okay, that's 75% of it, but his goofy personality is endearing, at least to me. I just don't think a Zelda title would be complete without Tingle hiding somewhere.

A Link To The Past still feels pretty complete to me.

I pretty much hope Tingle dies in the opening sequence of TP so I don't have to hear his annoying voice anymore. Or they could put him in a mini-game where he pops out of a hole in the ground and Link gets to smash him with the Megaton Hammer. That would be sweet

well since this game is before wind waker.

tingle is has probably not even born yet, if that's even possible.

so no fear to see tingle in TP.

also doesn't fit their post/pre apocalypse world that they seem to be trying to create

You know what I meant Mr. Smartypants. Of course I wasn't hoping to see Tingle back before he even existed.

I pretty much hope Dark Hamlet and his kin die in the opening sequence of TP so I don't have to hear their annoying voices anymore. Or they could put them in a mini-game where they pop out of a hole in the ground and Link gets to smash them with the Megaton Hammer. That would be sweet

Totally!!

Eww! Ribs are gross. Unless you cover them with man-naise - yum!
