Fatty Princess Gets Her Cake on Thursday

Sony's PlayStation Blog (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/07/27/fat-princess-worth-the-weight-heres-the-date/) has confirmed that this Thursday, we'll finally be seeing that BBP (Big Beautiful Princess) hit the PlayStation Network. For the low price of $14.99, you'll get to tackle this top down squad based capture-that-princess game.

Fat Princess will be released simultaneously worldwide in N. America, Europe and Asia. A Japan release is also in the works, and we’ll have more information on that in weeks to come.

The sheer amount of questions submitted was fantastic, and we really appreciate everyone taking the time and effort to come up with some really good ones.

Nope, and evidently it is only going to be on PSN (no XBLA version) which is a bummer. I have access to a PS3 now (my roommate owns one) but all my friends have 360s so I play online games on it.

Oh well. Maybe my roommate will buy it and I'll play it a little with strangers.

The best possible combination of gaming hardware is a PC and a PS3 (and whatever portable you like). Xbox 360 exclusives (no PC porting) rarely are any good. I dare anyone to mention at least 5 games that really deserve an X360.

Gears and Mass Effect both had pc ports (the 1st ones), CC is coming to PSN, ME2 apperantly to the pc. so you barely made 5 ;), although there are other great titles out there i'd want to play as i'm a pc/ps3/wii owner.
(just bought too much crappy MS hardware, from mice to flightsticks, gamevoice stuff etc..., in the past to invest any more into them - ok i was weak a while back and now use a wireless 360 controller on the pc)

anyway, have some CAKE !

just hope i didn't overhype this in my head, although i'm fully prepared for unstable servers & network drops come thursday.

If you don't mind a PC port a year or two later then you are right that a few of those titles were not 100% exclusive, but playing them first does count for a lot.

That is why it is good to be multi-console so you can pick and choose the best titles from all three systems. (PC, 360 & PS3 of course)

This one should be great fun and with any luck it will show up on the 360 down the road so more people can play it and it is way easier to get a game together.

Well, EvAv, you did miss my point. The point is being able to play the most and best titles available.

Halo 3 isn't that good. I owned it for 3 months, played the campaign on splitscreen (which was really fun) but outside that, it just didn't have a lasting appeal, so to say.
Gears 1 is on PC. And both Gears of War have a big problem: very good campaign and coop, really really bad competitive, specially Gears 1 with it's "Let's give the HOST clairvoyance".
Fable 2 is good, won't deny it, but i just couldn't get attached to it to merit another 5 days of rental. I did love the original and finished everything including the lost chapters and what not.
You got me there with Forza. Haven't played any of them.
And Castle Crashers, good game, coming to PSN.

Is my point clear enough? There are many good games, some are very good, on the Xbox360 but they are available on PC, something which PS3 exclusives don't. If i want to play Killzone 2 or Valkyria Chronicles or Uncharted and do not own a PS3, i'm pretty much fkd up.

Ah, how i miss the good ol' days when i played nothing but BF2 and worried nothing about consoles, mocking everyone that had to make that crushing decision. It's a sad thing there hasn't been a killer app for PC since BF2142.

If i want to play Killzone 2 or Valkyria Chronicles or Uncharted and do not own a PS3, i'm pretty much fkd up.
Except that 2 out of 3 of your examples of good PS3 exclusives are overrated.

Killzone 2 is just another shooter. Valkyria Chronicles is a neat strategy RPG (so that's cool and definitely a point in the PS3's favor), but then Uncharted is a fun Tomb Raider clone with better writing that only lasts 8 hours. . . great renter, but you don't sell consoles with great renters.

The Xbox 360 has a lot of breadth and depth in it's exclusives even if they aren't all AAA. I like that I can play Tales of Vesperia and The Last Remnant more than a year earlier on the 360 (as well as several other ported JRPGs). Project Sylpheed brought back the space flight-sim with an awesome anime feel (Gundam - robots + Colony Wars), and Earth Defense Force 2017 is just ridiculously cool. Recently, I've had a fantastic time playing Ninja Blade even though it is obviously a God of War clone with a cyber-ninja skin and the writing isn't as good.

The PS3 is absolutely getting there with exclusives as it may actually have more releasing this year than the Xbox 360 for the first time in the console's lifespan, but it still has less than half as many exclusives as the Xbox 360. It has far fewer AAA million-game sellers that move consoles and it has far less breadth and depth in it's exclusives.

You want to talk about upcoming exclusives and compare UPCOMING stuff because the PS3 can compete there. Try comparing their current game libraries and unless the people you are speaking with are not gamers or enjoy the taste of the same Kool-Aid, then they'll call bullshit on you every time.

There are finally some good things happening for your console of choice. Focus on that.

I'm not saying that Xbox360 sucks and bla bla bla. It's a good console, with its RROD and all (PS3 also has the BluRay drive death too). But, i would recommend the PS3 to anyone that ask me, except if he's a Halo kid, i would probably kick his ass (Both out- and ingame, on his game of choice :P)

Anyway, I wouldn't like to start a flame war over personal preference of console.

PS: I'm getting FatPrincess the moment it comes out. And i will be cheap poor for the rest of the week (don't think i'm not looking at you MvC2 :) )

I would say since Battlefield 2, since I wasn't a huge fan of BF2142. Unless I'm missing some hidden gem. Crysis was good, but I wouldn't say it was that much better than shooters you can find on a console.
