Tekken 6 has gone multi-platform and now it's going multi-brand as Namco Bandai announce a partnership with TapouT, "an expression of combat known worldwide", to bring their real world apparel into the Iron Fist Tournament.

News from Comic-Con today brought word that TapouT and Namco Bandai are set to introduce a line of t-shirts for character customization in Tekken 6. This line of t-shirts will also be available for purchase here in the real world this September.

"Tekken 6 and TapouT fans share a deep-rooted passion for the mixed-martial-arts lifestyle," says Makoto Iwai as takken from the official press release. "This partnership will bring TapouT's signature style into the world of Tekken, giving new experiences to video game enthusiasts and MMA fans alike."

Dan "Punkass" Caldwell was on hand for the announcement adding that he "thinks it's a great crossover for the brands," adding that Dan Hardy -- who was also on hand for the announcement -- always brings his video game console to every tournament he participates it to help illustrate his point.

Had so little desire to play Tekken 6, more so after the last two showings and this just cements it.

I have no problem with that. I love tekken, and have been playing tekken 6 BR in the arcades for awhile now. Gonna buy this on day 1.

I think it's funny to see everyone walking around in Tapout this, Tapout that. It's an ugly logo design to begin with and the clothes look godawful!

I'm glad this is just an optional download, as opposed to being included in the game from the start. That would be like having Mario drink Pepsi power-ups.

I dunno, I guess some of the tribal designs are ok. But to me you might as well be wearing WWF wrestling or whatever they have now. It's just comical to me, no offense, warriors;)

Wow, they took a game I don't care about and a clothing line I don't care about and combined them to make them both actively repellent. Amazing.

Ugh.

I long for the glory days of Pride. MMA felt sacred then and larger than life. Now you've got Brock Lesnar as a heavyweight champion and every poser in existence walking around with a Tapout beanie on their heads.

I like that the majority of the comments are 'I HATE TEKKEN I HATE TAPOUT OH BOY YOU WILL NEVER SEE MY MONEY', good thread to post in dudes.

I love Tekken and Tekken 6 is looking to be a really good followup to 5 (I've only played a few hours in the arcade). I could honestly give a shit about some downloadable content that I won't buy anyways, because it doesn't alter the game itself one tiny bit!

I'm glad that people came here to talk about how shitty the shitty game with shitty clothes in it that they hate is though.

Well Rev, to be fair, I think it is more funny about how people say they like the game and then say they will not be purchasing this content. I would think a better idea is to offer DLC that people will WANT to buy... So I of course will comment that any slim interest I had in this game, has been shredded by their decision to include DLC I (and apparently more people) do not care about as opposed to one I would, which could potentially make me interested.

Rev has a point, if you didn't like Tekkens 1-5, nobody will be surprised to find out that you will not be trying out the 6th installment, so really your negative opinions on the franchise are not only incredibly pointless, but it borders on blatant trolling to post "I HATE THE TEKKEN SERIES!!11" in a Tekken 6 hype thread.

That being said, it's pretty bizarre to link MMA apparel to characters like Yoshimitsu and Devil Kazuya, but probably better than pervasive ads from Coca-Cola after some consideration.
