Anyone else excited about this sequel?

I must say I'm quite excited, but thats mainly because I'm Danish, and the makers of the game is Danish. But I must say that I didn't care much for Hitman 1 and 3, but number 2 was great.

I never played the first game (other than the demo, a long time ago), which is probably why I seemed to enjoy Contracts more than other people. I liked both Silent Assassin and Contracts, and am looking forward to this one very much.
I just hope they don't keep pumping out sequels too quickly and diluting the experience.
I definately have to say hitman 2 was the best of the series. But the first of the series was awsome as well. Contracts was a shocker though. I played the demo of it and was disapointed beyond belief.
I will definately check blood money out when it goes gold. Its looks much better than other games from the series.
I've got a question though. For anyone who auctually completed contracts, what happened to 43? Did he die, did he get replaced by another 43, did he pull though? Much appreciated if someone told me.
I'm danish too and not very excited I must confess. I'm happy for them because they make polished games from Denmark, but a little too consolified (yeah I made that word up) for my taste.
The first was too hardcore (mainly due to bugs and lame gamedesign). The level where you had to take out a general inside an army camp was impossible! You needed the sniper from the level before and you were screwed if you chose other weapons before you proceeded. And the towers had random ladders where you fell to your death instantly for no reason. God I hated that game. But I loved small pieces of it like the restaurant mission. That was brilliant.
The second one was really good. I enjoyed the scene where you had to kill the security nerd in a basement. Crawling along behind him in the server room wearing a firefight suit with an axe being careful not to step on the bags of chips. Great level!
The third was the same in every way except for the fun. It was like a mediocre mission pack.
What really turned me of was the sluggishness in some situations and the 3rd person control. When you are a hitman you need absolute contol over every action (where you step, snipe etc.). Everything just seemed a bit out of my hands sometimes and the AI was very tough. You couldn's save either.. a BIG minus.
Look at this new Hitman screenshot! Some magic floorboards merging with the underlying rocks. :) Looks kinda crappy to me (for a PC game) - its obvious the game is aimed towards the Xbox and PS2.

I will look forward to the next Hitman for the Xbox360.

As someone who really doesn't like the "sneaker" genre, I absolutely love this franchise, probably because it is the only game I've played that you can actually choose to do the missions with guns blazing or by sneaking around. Something about knowing that you can just kill everyone in a mission if it comes down to it seems to encourage a stealthy play style as killing everyone would be the "easy" way out. I definitely agree Contracts was a giant kick in the teeth to fans of the franchise, but the few new missions it had were fantastic, both the opening Slaughter House mission and Beddingford Manor come to mind as just ridiculously atmospheric and fantastic missions.
Silent Assassin still takes the crown for the series though for the sheer quantity of great missions, namely all of the Malaysia missions.

I cannot wait for this games, I've played all the Hitman games, and really enjoyed all of them, yes even contracts.

I can't wait for this game either. I loved the other ones especially "Contracts" and I hope that this one rocks as well.

I'm damn excited. I played all three games, and while I loved the second one and liked the third one, both of them lacked the difficulty of the first one.
Maybe most people don't like running one mission over and over for days until they get everything exactly perfect, but that's why I liked the first hitman so much. It actually required you think about timing, location, escape routes and all that good stuff.
That being said, opening up on a crowded lobby with an M60 in Hitman 2 was one of my favorite video game moments.

My thoughts exactly. I always get frustrated when i have to sneak around and then get caught and i have to start over. These games are great for that reason, among others. And yes i am very excited.
