EA announced today that Battlefield 1943 has sold more than 600,000 copies of its download only game across the PSN and XBLA.

"We are honoured by the reception that the game has received so far," says Gordon Van Dyke, producer on Battlefield 1943. "Watching and participating in this non-stop multiplayer action has been a real treat for us and we can't believe how fast our fans reached 43 million kills. We can now truly say that we have set a new standard for what can be done in the downloadable games category and gamers recognize the endless value that Battlefield 1943 provides for just $15."

Maybe they'll learn to make the next one function upon release.

Endless? Yeah...until EA shuts down online functionality. Thanks for caving in to them some years back, MS. Thanks a lot!

Those are some amazing numbers. Of course Battlefield is a huge franchise so this doesn't really surprise me since the game is great and only $15.

Maybe now EA can afford to fixed the damn game for the 600K users. :) The game is awesome, when it is not lagging out and you can get into a game with a party of friends. My group went back to COD WAW because of all the trouble we had playing it together. Not to mention the lack of map variety. Oh, and why did they remove the ability to pilot the navel ships and take out subs, and sinking the carriers. Those were some of the best and most unique moments of 1942 on the PC.

So it could fit into the download? So it was worth $15?

I'm honestly just guessing..

Yeah it's just a toned down version of previous BF games with 3 classes and 3 maps. It's not really anything new, but I like having a more epansive XBLA game around on my hard drive. PC owners should mainly be interested if they are interested in a cheap game. I personally would just play BF2 or 1942 if I was playing on PC. Don't get me wrong though, I have a lot of fun when I play 1943.

It can't get anymore obvious that this is a $15 dollar game worth $15 dollars! Look at some of the shit that gets shoveled in our faces for MUCH MUCH more, and you'll come to the realization that it isn't a cheap game, but a rather awesome, inexpensive one.

Having problems with playing online? I bet the PC version won't.

Value is subjective. :shrugs:

I haven't had any networking issues since picking it up on day 2, not even when playing with friends, so I'm enjoying the shit out of it. I'm frankly not sure why people bring up networking problems with games these days as if it's some never-before-seen, incurable, game-wrecking characteristic. All internet-enabled games have latency or server/connection issues from time to time, all of them. Get over it, it's not gonna change any time soon.

Coral Sea is a ton of fun, and is absolutely awesome if you have a team of competent players.

Have you tried the demo Johan? Give it a shot it is a good game even though we are at the mercy of EA and there servers.
