After lots of bitching and moaning (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?p=177517), it has finally turned out that UBISoft is indeed developing the Xbox 360 and PC versions of Splinter Cell: Double Agent side by side. In an interview to Gamesradar (http://www.gamesradar.com/previews/default.asp?pagetypeid=2&articleid=38586&subsectionid=1594), Julian Gerighty, co-producer of the 360 and PC versions confirms it:

With Ubisoft keen to invest in next-generation technology and expertise, and to give the Splinter Cell brand a meaningful start in the brave new world, a separate, optimised version for 360 and PC was a given. That's being handled by the Shanghai studio which developed Pandora Tomorrow's single-player campaign.Full Interview (http://www.gamesradar.com/previews/default.asp?pagetypeid=2&articleid=38586&subsectionid=1594).

Its old....but i thought it might drive the disheartedness away .:)

Wow. I had no idea the games were going to be so divergent. Glad I have a 360.

This is why I like UbiSoft. They are everything that Electronics Arts should be and could be but is not. At present I count three separate teams working on different versions of this game. I am hard pressed to find another powerhouse publisher willing to devote that much money and people to the development of one game - especially a game that could be used as an easy cash in given the franchise's reputation. Not only that, lots of their games are actually good, and this is looking like no exception.

Now all we need is a sequel to Beyond Good and Evil.

I'll be happy when they announce that the PC version has copy-protection that will allow me to play my purchased copy. Needless to say Chaos Theory had issues.

This makes me very happy. Hopefully they don't use Starforce on this game. Starforce causes me nothing but problems and I temporarily put up with it for Chaos Theory, but I promised I would never buy another Starforce game.

The funny thing about Starforce is I spent roughly 3 hours troubleshooting problems it caused in order to be able to play my game. My friend pirated the game. It took him 1 hour to download it and maybe 10 minutes to install the game without Starforce. He was playing it way before me and I went to the store and bought the damned thing.

I'm not really a fan of stealth games anymore, but I'll definitely give this one another go when it comes out for my 360. If nothing else, I can probably get some gamer points out of it. :)

Umm, there was no debate only Reanimated's trolls.

I'd wish to see some damn OFFICIAL screens/ movies for that game already.
