Sega has released a bunch of new in-game screens of its mech combat game Chromehounds.

Not to be outdone, Worthplaying (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=31317) has 46 screens up!

Could they not come up with a better name? It just screams budget title. Nice high rez pictures though.

OMG! *SPLURGE*

I will buy a 360 just for this game. If it turns out a good one that is.

Looks like a lot of fun, now all I need is a steel battalion 2

This is looking good, I hope those skies arent static. I think its about time to ditch static sky maps and boxes. Even if its subtle, I want movement in my game skies :)

I must say, this does look good. Here is to hoping they can get a little bit of that old Sega magic for this one.

However, I still have no intention of picking up a 360. Actually that is a lie, I have no intention of picking up a 360 so long as it will cost me over $400 to get the real thing, with no games.

Awesome!

If it controls well I am in!

GO GO Sega!

I sure hope they deliver on gameplay. There are a couple of 360 games in the pipes from them that looks just great.

Not to be an ass or anything, but the Worthplaying screens are far superior.

Gameplay videos i've seen look a bit slow.

Hooray for boring, uninspired landscapes.

Action looks decent though.

yeah the landscapes look about the same quality as armored cores

but the mechs look good and if there is a good deal of ac-like mech customizing this will be a game for me

I sincerely hope that the picture below is an early build... bceause those trees in the background look like sprite based CRAP and the sun looks gawd awful.

Most of the other shots are much, much more polished than this surreal looking dreamscape:

Damn, that's not even as good as the stuff they were showing post TGS which were supposedly in-game.

Anyway, I'm l;ooking forward to this as, because mentioned before, it looks like it's got some of that sega magic which just disappeared with the Dreamcast so long ago.

Also, I'd really like to get into a mech game of some sort and never really liked Armoured Core.

That's not a sun. It's a flare. It's also with the night vision turned on. You can see in the little pip window that it's night time on that map.

I hope this game has excellent team based multiplayer going for it, something like a faster paced Steel Battalion instead of the deathmatch fest that was MechAssault.

Usually I'm pretty well averaged in with most people's opinion on games. But I have to say that these screen shots leave much to be desired. Worthplaying has larger versions of the same screens and with this game bigger is not better.

The larger screens reveal low detail landscapes and sky textures, with everything but the mechs themselves looking uninspired.

Yeah, the landscapes are somewhat sparse and bland, and the trees look as bad as the ones in Starsiege. But still, it's a mech game.

They probably would've annouced it already but what if the sparseness is because the trees and buildings are fully destructible?

When you put a major feature like that into a game you tend to announce it, which they have not done. Instead they have announced "Photorealistic visuals" which I'm just not seeing.. maybe I need to squint harder.

I agree. This game looks good. I wish they would make a steel Battlion 2 with a new 360 controller. I know it isn't likely but if they made on early in the 360 lifespan and made it work with other mech games(like chromehounds)it could start something awsome.

I read somewhere that Amored Core is comeing to 360. I haven't played a AC game since 3. I have played most of them and am looking forward to playing an 360 AC, aswell as hopefully alot of mech games on my 360.

El Cabong you correct. Hopefully AC is on Live.
