Gamasutra (http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=24481) has taken a look at the NPD numbers for the year and has pointed out what the top 5 best sellers this year have been for each platform. We knew that UFC Undisputed was a well selling title, but it appears that it's doing really well.

PlayStation 3:

Killzone 2
Resident Evil 5
Street Fighter IV
UFC Undisputed
MLB '09: The Show

Xbox 360:

Resident Evil 5
UFC Undisputed
Call of Duty: World at War
Halo Wars
Street Fighter IV

Nintendo Wii:

Wii Fit (With Balance Board
Wii Play (With Remote)
Mario Kart Wii
EA Sports Active Bundle
LEGO Star Wars The Complete Saga

say what you want about Resident Evil 5, but for my money it's the best Co-Op game on either platform, and it has SPLIT SCREEN. Split screen together with the great unlockable stuff is the reason it gets more play at my house then any other game.

Id also like to add that achievements were well designed, it's the only game I'm going to get 1,000 in and not feel like it was a pain in the ass getting there.

I would have liked a list for the PC aswell and with figures put in so we know how much they all have sold. What with this supposed 20% (or there abouts) drop in sales it would have been interesting to see the figures. Also it would be nice for them to merge all the groups in a top 10 games so far this year.

I've read the NPD no longer tracks retail sales of PC games due to the market moving to digital distribution.

A few sites have started posting the top ten lists from places like Steam and Direct2Drive. There are no actual numbers to go with those lists though.

Despite owning a 360 and a PS3, and buying dozens of games a year, I have none of these. I guess I just don't fit in with the cool kids.

I own both systems as well, but only own The Show on the list.

Given that Resident Evil 5 on PS3 supposedly outsold the 360 version the Killzone 2 top position on PS3 is very impressive.

Unless you factor in MMO subscriptions, Steam, D2D, Greenhouse, Stardock, etc. any list for PC games will be woefully inaccurate.

I was though it would be against their best interest to have no numbers, but it seems those think otherwise.

If those people actually realeased any useful information we could be past all the "PC is a dead platform" thingy and move on.

It would be great marketing as well. I bet Steam, stardock and impulse (at least) sell some HIGH million units every month.

Well aren't you special?

That's awesome that MLB 09 is in the top 5 for the PS3, great game.

Yeah I really wasn't all that into any these games either.
