Treyarch has released (http://www.callofduty.com/intel/258) the patch 1.5 update for its WWII shooter, Call of Duty: World at War. The patch includes Map Pack 2; details and media can be found right here (http://www.callofduty.com/supplies/wawmappack2/).

The highly anticipated Patch 1.5 update is here! With it is Map Pack 2, brought to you by Treyarch & GGL (http://www.ggl.com/index.php?controller=Channel&method=view&channel=9675&utm_source=Activision&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=MP2_Tourn). The Map Pack includes 3 new Multiplayer maps (Banzai, Corrosion, Sub Pens) and 1 new Zombie level (Shi No Numa).

Visit the PC Updates HQ (http://www.callofduty.com/supplies/pc-updates) for download mirrors & release notes.

With this, we’re excited to announce a couple new PC tournaments. For those of you here in the US, check out the tournament (http://www.ggl.com/index.php?controller=Channel&method=view&channel=9675&utm_source=Activision&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=MP2_Tourn) GGL is hosting. Anybody in the UK will want to check out ClanBase (http://clanbase.ggl.com/ladders.php?gid=87&utm_source=Activision&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=MP2_Tourn). Both tournaments are run by GGL, and each have tons of great prizes to be won!

Additionally, the Steam version of Patch 1.5 is also rolling out today – so expect your game to begin auto-updating shortly.

Aside from the PC Patch, the 1.5 Linux Dedicated Server is releasing concurrently. Check the PC sub-forum (http://www.callofduty.com/board/viewforum.php?f=29) for download mirrors. Of course this is not a Linux game client – just a dedicated server for GSP’s and server administrators.

Oh, and there’s more – the Mod Tools 1.3 package is also releasing today. It is an incremental update, so be sure you have the main installation package, along with Mod Tools 1.2. This 1.3 package contains the new assets from Map Pack 2; modders will be able to immediately begin work on their custom Zombie levels with the new features introduced into Shi No Numa. Be sure to visit the Treyarch Wiki (http://wiki.treyarch.com/) for more details and download mirrors.

I bought this a week or so ago. I thought I'd give Treyarch time to fix it up first. I am having a blast with the multiplayer. I haven't touched single player, and I don't have much reason to at this point.

Well... playing through the "singleplayer" campaign (you can do it coop) is what unlocks the Zombie levels, but I suppose there are ways around that with downloading save. Those Zombie levels are worth the effort, and I had a blast playing the campaign with 4 people coop.

What? There are still a ton of people playing.

I fell sad for people who can't get over their fanyboi feelings and enjoy a game.

I still haven't tried the Zombie mode yet, but it's already unlocked. I did have my stats reset after the game crashed - but my level wasn't so high that it mattered much. I like the idea of the challenges and unlocks.

I'll probably give the zombie maps a go later today.

I went back to COD4 to work towards my gold cross, but COD WaW isn't that bad. Sure it's not as good as Modern Warfare, but it's still much better multiplayer than any other game out there.

That is, unless of course you are bad at multiplayer, with which may cause you to throw your controller into your TV or rip the game on a forum.

Are you joking? The multiplayer in this game sucks ass!! Call of Duty 2 is a much better WW2 shooter, why not just play that and don't waste your time with this crap. Just with the garbage that was COD3 Treyarch = FAIL!

I guess my only complaint is the artillery. I'm having fun with it.
