During the same conference call that saw the Bioshock 2 (http://evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90062) delay, VG247 (http://www.vg247.com/2009/07/14/max-payne-3-and-red-dead-redemption-join-bioshock-2-in-fy2010/) has noticed that Max Payne 3 which was supposed to come this holiday, has been pushed to the same time frame as Bioshock 2 (Fiscal 2010). Red Dead Redemption and Mafia II which are also mentioned, were also supposed to come out this year but had already been announced as being delayed (http://evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86017).
“As a result, we will now be launching sequels to several of our strongest franchises - including BioShock 2, Mafia II, Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption - during the next fiscal year. These titles will anchor our lineup for fiscal 2010, and along with other products planned for next year, provide a platform for enhanced financial performance in what we hope will be an improved retail environment.”

It's not Max Payne, it's generic shooter 5000 with the name 'Max Payne' tacked onto it. F'ers screwed up my favorite franchise. Again.

Exactly, this is GTA spin off X, with a drunk redneck as the main character. I have seen NOTHING of the max payne franchise from the pictures or the article bits we have received. I don't think the developers even played the original series.

Maybe they'll use the extra time to change the character art to something that isn't fucking retarded.

The only problem with this "not being max payne" is that it's being made by the original max payne developers who are doing what they wanted to do with max payne.
I'll see where it goes, i suppose.

Pay close attention: fiscal 2010 for TTWO starts Nov. 1 so one of these games could see a release in calendar 2009.

Maybe they can do a Mark Wahlberg tie-in a la Vin Diesel in Driver or whatever that shitty game is called.
Synergy is what it's all about. Look at the great things it's brought us: AOL/Time Warner, Playstation/Blu Ray Player.
This is the future. Not quality. Marketability.

Oh wow, you're right. That was entirely my bad there, i thought that because Rockstar produced the game, they also created it.
Yeah, this is petty much entirely in Rockstar's ball game now.
