Take-Two recently posted that Bioshock 2 is going to be pushed back (http://ir.take2games.com/releaseDetail.cfm?ReleaseID=396166) until fiscal 2010 for the game to have additional development time.
Take-Two is reducing its fiscal 2009 guidance to reflect several factors, most significant of which is the movement of the launch of BioShock 2 from the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009 to fiscal 2010, in order to provide additional development time for the title. Additionally, Take-Two is updating third quarter and fourth quarter fiscal 2009 guidance to reflect reduced sales of catalog products and lower than anticipated initial retailer orders of new releases, due to a retail environment that is proving even more challenging than the Company's previous expectations

That's fine--they can take all the time they need (within reason) to polish the game and make it a worthy evolution from the original. My games backlog is more than enough to keep me in fresh gaming content through most any delay.
That's not to say I'm anything less than eager with anticipation at this game. But since I'll probably start playing it as my one and only focus once it's released, it's actually kind of a relief that it's being pushed back so I can catch up on other stuff (still need to finish Prince of Persia and, heaven help me, Bullet Witch :) ).

Doesn't that depend on the entree'? I mean, I like rare steak and burnt pretzels!

AAA games take time, and we all benefit from things like this. Polish it up boys.. I'm still going to spend my $60 when it comes out. :)

I have no problem with this. There is nothing worse than a highly anticipated game being released not quite ready. This just gives me more time to enjoy other titles until then...

From what I've seen so far, I thought they were very far along. . . I think their PR lady from E3 is actually THE Big Sister. She has crazy eyes and speaks in rapid non-sentences like bullet points on the back of a box.

So I guess game reviewers will have to find another good-but-not-great game to lavish with heaps of undeserved praise until this comes out?
