3D Realms has posted their second Prey Weekly Development Update #2 (http://www.3drealms.com/news/2006/01/prey_weekly_dev.html), this week Human Head talks a bit about launching the Press Tour for the product and what development stages they have going on.
The press will have the chance to see about 30 minutes of single-player action. For this demo, we're focusing on the earlier portions of the game - letting them see how the game ramps up in combat, puzzles, and the player's abilities.
We should get to see some good online previews out of that tour.

Does anyone actually think this game is going to be worth playing?

Visuals are nice, Human Head does good work, and HH and 3DR seem to have a pretty good grasp on the gameplay systems they're using. Sounds promising to me. Hopefully it will come to consoles, so I can play it.

Based on the video footage currently available, I thought all of the elements are there: new weapon types (loads of potential alien tech.), new gameplay features (spirit walking), technical innovation (portals), but overall there was nothing I've seen that compells me to play the game. They keep talking about how the game will feature a plot that is heavy with Native American themes and culture, but how exactally are they going to pull that off well? I'll reserve my judgement for the final game, but it's vey likely the game will upset a lot of N.A. groups with its violence and its Hollywood-style portrayals of the culture.

Why would you doubt 3drealm's track record? (snicker)

In my opinion, graphically, Prey is right up there with Gears of War and Fight Night in terms of best looking gameplay I've ever seen. The whole portal thing looks fun, and it looks like a lot of inventive stuff in there (but I haven't played SiN, which I've read had the 'going up walls' stuff).
Ten years in development is pretty ridiculous though.

He says GB showed him a couple of shots back in his May entries. Probably is still in production.
I don't see the point of putting "lol" in a post. It really is worthless.

Anyone who doesn't think this looks good has probably given up on first-person shooters in general. I really want this game.

LOL , this coming from a guy who typed *sigh* in one of his posts a few days ago

Indeed, I put sigh, because it is quite useful on occasion for displaying your mood at the start of a response, where a sentence would not work particulary (sp) well. While "lol" always makes you seem like a bit of a hyperactive 12 year old on a mobile phone. You could have used "I fund it funny that this is coming from.." in your above post and it would have looked much better.
If you want to continue to use "lol" then do so, its not like I'm going to force you to stop, personally I don't use it as it is a bit of a nasty little term.

That is exactly what I keep thinking.
I remember running up walls and having herds of enemys run down the wall at me from the top, I really do.
