The weekend is here, and all the students are scratching their head at the amount of work they will have to do over the semester. But, cheer up, there are a lot of games to be played. This weekend I am trying the 14 day trial of EVE Online. At day three and I just bought a new ship and some new weapons. There will be a posting that very briefly discusses my thoughts on it for the first two days. I would recommend trying the free version - no credit card needed. What are you going to be playing this weekend?

Speaking of EVE online, I just got both my accounts finished learning all the learning skills to rank 5, so perhaps I'll venture into some truly obscene skills, though I'll probably have to make some daring mining runs for a few dozen million ISK to finance doing anything worthwhile with said skills. I love my Covetor. But I could just do a bunch of missions that would be, paradoxically enough, safer than mining in low sec space, plus the chance of valuable loots.
There's always some WoW to be played, and I might try to get into AoE III again, though it wasn't all that engaging when I initially sat down to play it.

I would recommend trying the free version - no credit card needed. If only it were so easy that they could send me a blessed key. I've signed up from four different computers with four different email addresses from four different places across the state.
My inbox looks like this: ...
Anyway, and you can laugh, I'll be playing Electroplankton (har gonna try some mixing if I could get my wife away from it.) and cutting down trees in kiddies cities who post here that their "gate$ r opn" in AC.

I will be trying to get some time in on that Star Wars Empire at War Demo...I played it for 30 minutes on it's release night and I wasn't too impressed. Hopefully a 2nd look will show it to be a more interesting game.

I'm gonna check out the preview stuff with Guild Wars and try to make some head-way into my pile of unopened games. I'll probably start with Fire Emblem on the Gamecube or Trauma Center on the DS.

Guild Wars preview weekend for me, intersparsed with some FF X-2. I will finish this game, even if it tears out every part of me that loves the FF series while I do it. I've had two years to prepare myself for it.

Been wanting to experience a more serious MMO since engaging in SWAT 4 online with other serious players. So this month I started a free trial with WWII online Battleground Europe.
The experience has been promising thus far as long as one doesn’t have too great an appetite for eye candy. The missions are definitely team oriented. Once committing to a Allied or Axis group (you don't have to when starting)you gereally find out when, where and how to get to the major battles. Until then you can just wander the battlefield like some shellshock dude.
Last night I was wandering aimlessly and spotted a tank obviously headed for the battle. I ran behind the guy, like in the movie Patton, you know? Then, from know where I can see, KABOOOM the tank, my cover, is annihilated! I feel as exposed as republican at a Toga party. So I’m running, ducking. Must have serpentined for another half-hour just trying to make it to another friendly tank. Just before reaching the relative security of the tanks back quarter I’m drilled to the ground with enemy machine gun fire (I'm guessing there, really). I think the opposing force was really just toying with me.
Believe it or not I’m having great fun! I’ve killed no rats yet which makes me very happy. It's just the realism will make one “screw the pooch” for many more missions to come, 'till learning the ropes. I love free learning ropes.

I'm on the 5th case in Phoenix Wright so I might see about finishing up that game, although the incredibly long 4th case has tired me out over the last couple days.
I am tempted to bust out Partners In Time though. It's the one DS title I've had since I got my system and haven't played yet.
Tomorrow I'm planning on having a few friends over for our biweekly Guitar Hero fest. Tonight might see me playing some more Dragon Warrior VIII, now that I know the trick to defeating Dhoulmagus... (Thanks Kelegacy).
Otherwise, just Animal Crossing, Meteos, Mario Kart and WoW when I don't have anything better to play.

I do have a copy of Eve and have played it in the past, but it isn't really my cup of tea. I'll be rocking out the World o' Warcraft this weekend most of all, with my daily fixes of Animal Crossing and such, and we'll see what else works it's way in there.

It's embarassing, but for some reason, I started playing Dungeon Siege again. The first one.Maybe this time I'll actually finish it. Tomorrow I'm also hoping to beat the theatre stage on Psychonauts and see how much farther I can go before I get frustrated again. I'll intermittently be playng some FFIV Advance and also I hope to work in some Battlefield 2 to prepare for the LAN party I'm going to next weekend.

Received Advance Wars DS in the mail yesterday -finally- so I'll be messing around with that tomorrow while I go home to visit the 'rents. I might bring along Riviera or M/L: Partners in Time as well. When I'm not on the go, I don't know. I played Metroid Prime last weekend so maybe that again...but I'm not really in the mood for more Metroid right now. I am in the middle of a couple stories I've been writing, and I'm currently reading To Kill A Mockingbird for the first time and enjoying it. So this weekend will not be too strict as to required duties overall, but I still have a bunch I should be doing. And because I've been motivationally depressed lately, I need a spark to light a fire under my heels.

I've been playing EQII. The level curve goes a lot faster than EQ did, the downtime is minimal and the death penalty is very mild. It's hard to believe EQII is an SOE game. Getting spanked by WoW must have shaken things up over there.
I'm still planning on giving Eve a try when EQ gets stale.

I coordinated three full hours without children on Saturday with my wife. I'm in the final stages of Resident Evil 4 and I'd really like to finish that up. Theoretically Prince of Persia the Two Thrones is coming today or tomorrow. Ah, the joys of Dirt Cheap shipping from GoGamer.
I'll also play Zelda: Wind Walker with my son. He explained that it was "basically educational" since it involves a lot of reading. He's seven, so he's just getting to the point where he can read all the text with a little help.

I'll be lusting after WoW while studying for my twelfth grade biology final... you know, one of those government exams that you have to do well on or you're screwed for life... or at least doomed to put off university, repeat the course, and pay for an exam rewrite. I'll be playing Mario Kart during breaks, and after my exam hopefully get set up on wifi and and play against some EvAvers :)

About half-way through Jill's game in Resident Evil DS. So far, bar a few small puzzles, it's pretty much exactly the same game as it was 10 odd years ago... but I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. The character models are smoother, but the backgrounds seem to loose their pazazz on a small screen. Also the FMVs look fucking hideous.
The game itself seems to run a little faster with more emphasis on combat this time. There are more enemies and lots more ammo. They now have a dedicated knife button like RE 4 but it's just as useless as it was in the first game. The first person parts pop up when you enter certain room at certain times and take a little getting used to, but just really require you to slash left/right/up/down to take out advancing zombies. Stringing together crazy knife combos looks awesome though.
Overall, I like it as a cool throwback but so far haven't seen anything that really makes the game a must-have unless you really liked the first RE. I haven't been able to try out the multiplayer however, and it looks promising, even though all other players are represented by big gay floating pyramids instead of their actual character model...

I must confess, this weekend I took to WoW. (had wednesday - friday off already)
Edit: I've given up trying to get a 360 until sometime this summer. The cool factor of being one of the first to own one is gone, and well, its too frustating trying to find one anywhere.
Oh, and 3 weeks 3 days on the newborn. So far all is good. *knock on wood*

Using the new system to play the same ol' games... mostly.
-Playing alot of cs_militia in CS:S, despite the engine's new performance issues.
-Replaying the BF2: Demo and enjoying the performance boost.
-Giving the Star Wars: Empire at War demo a spin, feeling conflicted about it.

Tomorrow I'm also hoping to beat the theatre stage on Psychonauts and see how much farther I can go before I get frustrated again.
The dialogue during that level is great, but I hated the level itself. It's the only part in which I used a walkthrough for the entire level.
I'm currently reading To Kill A Mockingbird for the first time and enjoying it.
Fantastic book. I'm not normally a weepy guy, but I bawl every time I get to the end of To Kill a Mockingbird. I'm not even sure why. Anywho, I'll probably go drink and wrestle bulls to get my manhood back now.
This weekend? Shit, I don't know. I need to box up 90% of my games, set out a couple for each platform, and only play those few. I just got the Zelda collection for GC (after replacing my stolen copy  ) so I think I'll relive Ocarina of Time. The music in that game is incredibly catchy.

For me, it waaas going to be some more online DoA 4. Goblinetoe kinda shafted that when he mentioned Mount and Blade. The game is digital crack... for some reason it just doesn't get old to be riding a horse at a full gallop, lean over with a large axe and do a medieval drive by (ride by) axing to some pirate.
This weekend is Megaman X weekend.
I have 5 more megaman X titles to go through, and i want to get them done! (screw X6)

Just got back from Munich, and it was a pretty powerful film. I don't know what I'd give it the Oscar for best film of the year, because I have nothing else to compare it to yet...need to watch Brokeback and Capote and the other nominees first. But all in all it was a pretty good film, and would probably only have been better if I were alive during the Olympic bombings and subsequent assassinations.
I thought my date was going to hate me for bringing her to the film, and I was a bit mad when she made the comment, "Wow, that was a really good movie," while we were walking out. I thought she was being sarcastic, but when challenged she said she no no, she was totally being serious, that she really enjoyed it. I felt a bit better then.

About half-way through Jill's game in Resident Evil DS.
I was about to say woah, woah, woah back the F up but I noticed your location was JP. So, I assume it's out there.
I'm on the 5th case in Phoenix Wright so I might see about finishing up that game, although the incredibly long 4th case has tired me out over the last couple days.
I JUST beat that on Wed. The 5th case seems like it took forever but the little touchscreen elements they added were pretty satisfying. Too bad they didn't add them to the rest of the game. It is quite a long case though. On a side note, I was in court today paying a speeding ticket and I kept thinking back to the game. I wanted to yell "OBJECTION!" but didn't. If I thought anyone but me would get it, I might have. Well, not really. I really became attached to the characters in that game, though. Anyway, I just noticed I have Circle of the Moon in the gba slot so I have been picking up the game I started LONNGGG ago. About 65% done and am sort of stuck. Playing it again is making me look at the DS one. This friggin' DS makes me feel like a kid again for some reason. Oh, I'll also be trying to figure out the best way to sell my PSP. May it rust in pieces...or something.

Well, I tried out FFXI on the 360. Although I only played for about five minutes, I found it to be teh suck. Oh well, that was only about three hours wasted setting it up <.<
My weekly game of Arcana Evolved started up again this week, it's loosely based on the Breath of Fire setting. I currently play a Wyndian Gunmage, but I'm phasing him out so I can play a Mandragoran Ritual Warrior. Prehensile headtails + Multi-attack = Hottness.
Other then that, I'll probably go through the OXM demo disk to get some gamer points, play some DOA4 and PD0, MUCK a bunch, and I think I'm gonna play a game of Civ IV right now. At some point I need to do some reading for my class over the British Empire. I'm also rather tempted to pick up the Megamax X Collection...

Going old school on the PC, nearly completed Unreal and after I'll be firing up Icewind Dale and Morrowind GOTY, possibly Dungeon Keeper 2 as well for nostalgia's sake.
On the Xbox I've got alot going on, probably too much, between Mercenaries, From Russia With Love, Far Cry Instincts, True Crime and I just fired up Gun as well for some reason.
Really need to focus and just stick to one game at a time till it's complete but what can I say I have no patience!

I'm dedicating yet another weekend to "The Movies", now that I've got access to tech like the cosmetic surgery so I can go all out on getting my cast all siliconed-up, put them in crazy-ass 70's clothing, and make some real b-grade romances (todays one involves the guy carrying the girl over his shoulder when exiting and entering every scene-change. ..and the extras are wearing chicken-suits, naturally.) ;)

I agree about the DS. I sold my PSP on ebay for just about $200.
For my weekend I'll be playing DOA4 (could some of the ending scenes be a little more odd?), Ninja Gaiden, Kameo on the 360. If I get sore thumbs I'll transfer over to get some racing in on NFS:MW on the pc.
I've got way too many great unfinished games though.

That game seriously rocks. It might not be so instantly addictive as Vice City, but give it a chance. IMHO it's not until the other two cities start opening up that you really get an idea of the scope of this behemoth. ..Oh, and even if the girlfriends are boring to ya, seek out the new ones anyway: some useful vehicles and abilites to be unlocked.
