After a life of small-time jobs and petty thefts you've been accepted into America's most famous criminal organization, the Corleone family. Now it's up to you to carry out orders, earn respect, rise through the ranks, and make New York City your own. Play your cards right and you could even be running everything as the next, and most powerful, Don.

Featuring non-linear action-adventure gameplay, The Godfather will offer gamers countless choices for solving the family's problems with brutal violence, skillful diplomacy, or a cunning mixture of both. From mob hits and bank heists to drive-bys and extortion, step deep inside the world of The Godfather where intimidation and negotiation are your tickets to the top. Players will use their powers of loyalty and fear to earn respect through interactions with characters in the world. Decisions made by the player in the game will have lasting consequences, just as it was in the mob underworld featured in The Godfather fiction. This game was doomed from the moment development started. Who exactally is the game supposed to appeal to? I guess EA just needed a good cover story for their version of the GTA clone. It just so happened that they acquired the GF license around that same time. Who wants to play this game?

People that like the movie and play video games? The same equation used when considering other licenses? I don't see the confusion here. If you played Mafia then you would understand how a game like this could make sense. The PC version of Mafia was a pretty good game at the time, but it didn't have the marketability the Godfather license has.

I'll probably give it a rent. I liked the book and the movies a lot. I just hope they don't rape the license.

There havent been any previous Godfather games, so if EA screws this one up at least we wont have others to compare it to. Like what they did with goldeneye.

The Godfather (ALL) Screens & Trailer

"All" no longer includes the GameCube, apparently. Granted, a GC version would sell horribly.

Mafia was awesome. If this game is at least on Mafias level, I will definately check it out.

I think Coppola liked the movies, but from what I hear, he's pissed beyond belief that they're doing this to his beloved films.

If he cared about his film series so much, he wouldn't have made Godfather 3. :D

How many videogames does good old Francis play?
No slight to Mr. Coppola, because he's a great director, but of course he doesn't want a videogame made of his movies, especially if he thinks the worse and figures it'll just be Max Payne or GTA with a Godfather coat of paint.

That said, this isn't looking very good, whether Coppola endorsed or not.
