nice rendering, personalization, seems like an easy to use track editor.

But at the end of the day won't it all just feel the same?
Perhaps a good buy at $9.99

It looks great. I think the idea of 'Play, Create, Share' will work a lot better in this title than LBP since it seems difficult (or impossible) for users to create a professional looking level inf LBP and I'm thinking that almost anyone can make a professional looking track in ModNation.

This is one of the few exclusive titles that really hurts me as a 360-only owner. (Especially since I'm a big TrackMania fan.)

Kudos to Sony for really pushing the envelope in enabling user-created content on the console. MS is starting to make some good moves as well (Kodu has some interesting potential), but they're well behind Sony at this point with regard to enabling content creation, IMO.

Looks neat. Can't imagine this without a mouse and keyboard for track creation etc. though.

Seems like this would be right at home on the PC.

Why don't PC Developers make games like this? :-)

Depending on how much customization they allow (and it looks like a metric fuckton from the trailer) this may unseat Mario Kart as the King of MP Kart Racing.

Not going to happen. This game looks fantastic, and it will doubtless develop a very strong cult following. But it will have about the same chance of unseating MK in the kart-racing genre as Conan did of unseating WoW in the MMO market. Kart racing is one of those crowded fields where you have one dominating king and a bunch of other me-toos who may or may not be as good or better than the king (in this case, Mario Kart), but it doesn't matter because the king is the de-facto standard.

It may eventually change over time, but it's not happening anytime soon.

Good question. But one that I don't think anyone will be able to answer until closer to the release date. I thought the levels in LittleBigPlanet were pretty diverse and people have made some pretty incredible things. Whether ModNation Racers will facilitates the same level of creativity remains to be seen. For the moment I'm prepared to give it the benefit of the doubt.

Wait... are we talking about a kart racing game or sex in the dark? Because even if the lights are off, I'd still take Megan Fox over some random crack whore. :)

You should spend more time in LBP, just filter your search by highest rated. There are plenty of amazing five star levels out there to screw around with.
