I heard somewhere this is a production test for a Halo movie. But, maybe not...

Thanks!

Personally i am very excited to see this! Being born in South Africa and understanding its past i appreciate what Neil Blomkamp is trying to portray with the movie.

If I remember right Blomkamp did some Halo shorts and was in negotiations to do a Halo movie. However, that feel through and he and the studio instead decided to go forward with a movie with some similar elements but an original IP.

It looks bad ass. It is a lot more action packed than I thought the movie was going to be.

This looks awesome.
FYI this is based off a short he made called Alive In Joburg. Its awesome. Too tired to dig the link up right now though. Its a great short. He also did another one called Temp Bot that I think could get a really good feature treatment. Niel was getting major studio attention before Halo fell in his lap. Now its back to his original ideas. I think he is going to be a great director.

The first trailer looked like this movie would be pretentious crap. (alien face blurred out... REALLY?!) This trailer was much more reassuring.

I was already really excited for this movie, and this trailer only served to build that excitement.

I think it still looks incredible.

I had forgotten about this movie until I saw a brief commercial for it earlier tonight. It looked interesting...but now it's moved into "must see" territory after that trailer.

The trailer sold me on it. Reminded me of Cloverfield.

This looks really good, and yes, I think this is a test case to see what Blokamp can do before a Halo movie.
