Looks like starting tomorrow, several new retail games are going to undergo a price drop. There's a CAG (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=229890) post with plenty of folks keeping up on it. Currently, Mirror's Edge (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=mirror's+edge&x=0&y=0&tag=evilavatarcom-20) is down to $19.99 over on Amazon, and House of the Dead Overkill (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=house+of+the+dead+overkill&x=0&y=0&tag=evilavatarcom-20) is at $29.99.

Other rumored titles to receive the deep discount are the dreadfully performing Bionic Commando, Tom Clancy's HAWX, Beijing Olympics 2008, NBA 2k9, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Incredible Hulk, Prince of Persia, Baja: Edge of Control, Tom Clancy's End War, Brother's In Arms: Hell's Highway, Skate and Oblivion: GOTY.

Be sure to check out GameStop.com (http://gamestop.com) tomorrow morning where they should have a special section dedicated to these drops.

Interesting, I wonder if we'll see similar price drops up here in Canada.

I hope SW:TFU drops to $20. I've been wanting a mindless yet well-done hack'n'slash to play through for a while, and this one looked like one of the better ones. Certainly better than the one I'm currently slogging through (Bullet Witch) at least.

(Don't laugh--I found it for $5 and decided to take a chance. :) )

Friend of mine said he bought Mirror's Edge for like $8? And bioshock for $20.. both for PS3. Not sure how/where.

Skate as in the first one? I am interested in the second one at a budget price, and even though I beat POP, I wouldnt mind picking it up if its cheap enough.

A lot of those games didn't do that badly.

There have been a lot of quick price drops over here recently. If a game sells like crap it gets cut to half-price (i.e. made a budget title) within a week.

Bullet Witch is one of my all-time most hated games.

That's the exact opposite of what I've heard, which I think is why it's doing so poor. I heard the controls were bad, the bugs were numerous, and the gameplay was generally bad on the side of awful.

At least companies like to think it doesn't affect Europe. Just check out the digital game pricing, often titles are 2-3x as costly in Europe as they are in North America.

I haven't seen any meaningful price drops either.. apart from shops having their usual discounts.

gzsfrk, if you're really wanting a copy of SW:TFU, GameCrazy's had it for $12.99 used for about a month now, I think.

only gamestop? Damn, I've got a Toys R Us giftcard from my Ghostbusters purchase, and my local Toys R Us has crappy prices on old games.

Awesome! I've got one of their discount cards, too. I'll go check that out. Thanks for the tip!

I played the demo and thought it was actually pretty fun. Granted, that was a level where your character was already pretty powerful. But I loved being able to pick up stuff and throw at the Tie Fighters zooming by.

Again--I wouldn't play it for a AAA action experience. But after playing stuff like Fable 2 and Mass Effect ad infinitum, sometimes I just need something easy on the brain and satisfying on a primal level. Better than average visuals + wanton destruction = good enough for me.
