Blizzard has announced that on January 29th, the date of the actual lunar new year, celebrations occur in Stormwind, Thunder Bluff, Booty Bay and Moonglade. On February 13th, one last firework show will be held in Moonglade in parallel with the real-world Chinese “Festival of Lanterns”. All the screenshots are of english clients, so I'd imagine it's for everyone.

Hey, I'm all for any excuse to have a holiday-related special event. Works well with the moon-centric Night Elves, anyway. Hopefully this means some obligatory cheap booze? Some Moon Pies, perhaps?

The ingame festivals must have had great feedback when Blizzard makes another one so close to the chrismas/new year Winterveil event. Cool!

Special world events like this are part of the reason WoW is the best MMO game around. Players always dig stuff like this.

There's a rumour circulating on my server (Gorefiend) that one of the players paid some service $1300 to get his level 60 rogue to the rank of Field Marshall (Rank 13) for several weeks. o.O
