SDTekken (http://sdtekken.com/2009/07/06/fall-season-of-arcade-sticks/) is excited and they should be. They have word that this fall, North America is getting two seriously cool home arcade sticks... The Hori Real Arcade PRO EX SE (http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Real-Arcade-Pro-EX-SE/dp/B002FKYPU4/) and the Real Arcade PRO 3 SA (http://www.amazon.com/Real-Arcade-Pro-3-SA-Playstation-3/dp/B002FL0T8U) will both be available from Amazon this September. They're not cheap (although cheaper than the Mad Catz TE), running $140 and $120 respectively, but these are probably the best pre-built sticks you'll be able to get.

Putting the great arcade stick drought in the past, we must look forward to what the rest of 2009 will bring us! Available for the first time in North America, the Hori Real Arcade PRO EX SE and the Real Arcade PRO 3 SA will be among the hottest arcade sticks available for the rest of the year. The tried and true Real Arcade PRO line of sticks bring arcade realism with both Seimitsu and Sanwa arcade parts!

[Thanks Prizim]

I dunno, the SF4:TE fight stick will be pretty tough to beat :)

Can anyone tell me why these things are so expensive? Mechanical buttons? Metal construction?

What the hell?!

They have a testicle joystick. The penis joystick is superior. Can they be swapped?

MadCatz has certainly come a long way. I remember 5 years ago when their name basically meant "shitty product, avoid at all costs". Now they make some of the better peripherals on the market.

too analog for me, either way, seems to be quite a price difference for merely lacking color. ink prices up or something?

I'm glad for the high-profile local competition and inevitable price warring.

These are absolutely limited and will be offered this time only. After our stock runs out, that's it. Preorder yours at an incredibly low price now.

Aw, facepalm it all to hell. So much for price wars...

They have what are generally considered by most arcade stick enthusiasts to be the top of the line 'real arcade machine' parts. E.G. Sanwa/Seimetsu sticks and buttons.
For fighting game enthusiasts this is a big deal.

The Street Fighter TE stick from Madcats also has Sanwa Parts if I'm not mistaken.

Incidentally, they're not analog at all. The joysticks and buttons use microswitches. ON/OFF

Seimitsu, not 'Seimetsu' btw.

The TE does use Sanwa.

It may not seem like a big deal to people who aren't fighting game enthusiasts but there is a MASSIVE difference in the feel and responsiveness of something like Hori manufacture parts (such as those used on the Fight Stick Ex 2 - aka: The DOA4 stick) and Sanwa or Seimitsu parts.

Going back to my DOA4 stick after my TE is a really different feel. The hori manufactured buttons feels spongey and need a full depress to register where as the TE stick has buttons so sensitive I have occassionally fired off moves by accident when my fingers have only just been touching the button and applying no pressure.
