Hey

I was thinking of giving this a download tonight on XBLA but wasn't sure what people thought of it after it came out. Did anyone download this and give it a go over the holiday weekend? If so what did you think?

I think I am going to download after having played MtG for a long time from Revised to late Mirage. A lot of the fun for me was customizing and creating decks that were competitive but individual. From what I have seen/heard, most of that has been removed from this version but I might be so far removed from the game that it might not matter anyways.

So let me know what you guys think.

I love the game. I have a had a fun time with it and definitely got my money worth.

But the major problem is you can customize your deck. You can add cards in but you can not take cards out of the original deck. I don't blame them for doing this since it would cut in to their other online product for a way cheaper price.

If you have any questions just ask.

Yeah I had heard that. I guess there is a little different strategy involved since you can then weigh the addition of cards versus the cards' usefulness. In the CCG we always used to keep the deck counts low to increase occurrence of getting what you wanted, so not being able to remove any cards is going to be a pain.

I do hope they add at some point the ability to build your own deck though. I am sure they have all sorts of DLC coming.

I was pleasantly surprised with this game. It's definitely addictive, and removes the "collecting" aspect of the old card game.

You know, where some joker spent $500 to have a handful of decks that had like 312 cards each? That game where the playing field was only level if you spent half your paycheck on buying cards?

Yeah, this game is nothing like that. Same awesome gameplay, easily understood rules, a nice soundtrack and decent visuals. No Pokemon collecting crazes necessary.
