So, very occasionally I'll play a game and decide not to review it for the site. The usual reason for this being that I think my negative feeling toward a game won't be justifiable - me and it just didn't click and thats a shame. If I don't think I can make a sensible recommendation then I won't. It's only happened on one other occasion where I just felt that I was the wrong guy to put the opinion out. You might have disagreed with scores I've given or comments I've made in the past but if I put it out I truly believe in it.
I've decided not to review Ghostbusters because I really strongly disliked it. I was bored to tears constantly shooting randomly moving enemies and only got about 3/4 of the way through it. I thought the graphics were shabby, I encountered a fair few bugs and actually thought the story was pretty poor. Mechanically it was sound but just sooo dull. I'm a huge 'Busters fan and thought it underplayed a lot of the coolest stuff like throwing out traps. Best bit of the game? The extra feature that showed the rebuilding of the real Ecto.
I'm just really curious to know as to whether it was just me or whether the majority felt the same? The Metacritic comments (we'll just avoid the scores) all seem to point to it falling just short of greatness but it just doesn't seem like a game I can imagine many enjoying.
So, Ghostbusters, yay or nay?
