Microsoft's "create a game" game, Kodu, is now available up on Xbox Live Marketplace (http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8025855024c/) for the low price of 400 MSP. There's a demo available too if you want to try before you buy.

Kodu is a new visual programming language made specifically for creating games. It is designed to be accessible for children and enjoyable for anyone. The visual programming environment allows rapid design iteration using only a game controller for input. Share your creations with friends over XBOX LIVE.

I'm glad to see things like this is the works. I believe that programming will become a core skill of future generations, taught alongside (as applied) mathematics to all students at nearly all grade levels from middle-school on.

Especially as computerized learnings systems come into widespread usage (just look at California turning to them with the budget crunch), the future that's already here will finally arrive en masse.
