Control the fate of the galaxy in LucasArts' RTS game Star Wars: Empire at War. Set a few years before the events of Episode IV: A New Hope, the game will let players rewrite history as well as experience the aftermath of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, the creation of the Rebel Alliance, and Darth Vader's rise to power.

Star Wars: Empire at War puts the power to command an entire war for the Star Wars galaxy in the hands of players, giving them the freedom to determine how they play the game within the completely scalable and accessible gameplay. Set a few years before the events of Episode IV A New Hope, LucasArts' new PC game lets players wage war on ground and in space, as well as experience the creation of the Rebel Alliance, the strengthening of the Empire and the beginnings of the Galactic Civil War.
Check 9 new Star Wars: Empire at War screens (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=31149) over at WorthPlaying.

Remember, tomorrow at 9AM PST LucasArts will release a ST:EaW demo (http://www.worthdownloading.com/game.php?gid=1466).

So the emperor is fighting on the field taking on troops eh? I wonder if this one will be any good.. there is a long history of crappy starwars games can this one beat the odds?

I hope this pulls a KOTOR rather than a BF2.

It's good to see that in the future I'll only be able to plot my strategies 500 ft apart from each other. Sweet. Kinda C&C VGA retro.

*sigh*

The chance this game doesn't suck is pretty low. I'd put the betting line at 3:2 that it sucks

Its made by the same people who did the original command and conquer games.

Lucas would still be making movies if there was anything interesting left to explore in the starwars universe.

Frankly, RTS just seems done to me at this point. Until some new interesting game mechanic gets added to the mix, I'm doubt I'll be buying any RTS's for a while.

I guess i'm the only one looking forward to this. I like the way you can attack in space and on ground. Also its cool where the battles affect later on in the game because your planets you've previously conquered are producing more resources.

I'll be looking forward to the demo :D

Like you all though I hope it doesn't suck ;)

Hopeful, but doubtful. Lucas has been shovelling shitty Star Wars games for awhile. I want it to be good.
