I managed to avoid buying Battlefield 1942 because I was in college and the demo nearly destroyed me. I was literally putting 10-15 hours a week into the one map demo.

That is to say, GOD YES. RELEASE THIS GAME ALREADY.

1943 is downloadable multiplayer only. Heroes is downloadable PC-only (though I guess there is a console version in the works) supported by microtransactions (blech). Bad Company 2 is a AAA multi-platform console release and Battlefield 3 is way out there in the future and no one knows anything about it.

All different and all awesome. Quit being a cranky old man and GET OFF MY LAWN!

Looking forward to this, and I can't figure out why. I played 1942 until I was sick of it, so I see no reason to make this a day one purchase. And yet I know I'll be sitting there on release day, credit card in hand.

Same here, played it to death when it came out. I have also been badgering my friends to get it as they all have 360's and never had PC's when this was released.

NO U! I wasn't saying this was a bad thing. I liked some BF2 back in the day. I just assumed everyone in that audience moved onto COD4 without looking back. I'm not sure if these games will do too well now.

Personally, I'm a little tired of this massive scale FPS games. If they can fix the issues with the older BFs, like spawn killing faggots, and a lot of the aircraft controls, I might be in.
