$120 for DJ Hero and TH:Ride (http://www.gamespot.com/news/6212159.html?tag=latestheadlines;title;1)

I don't see either of these moving at that price point.

I wasn't excited about these at any pricepoint, but I think that people who are interested won't mind paying extra for the controllers. I've seen demos of them and they are pretty nice.

NO sale for me.

I DJ for real and replicating that while intriguing, is not worth 120 bucks to do it in game form. I got into guitar hero originally because the point of entry wasnt too crazy.

It's kinda sad to see Tony Hawk pimping this gimmicky product and failing to realize that the video game skate craze is about 10 years past and not begging for a comeback.

And DJ Hero?? Sheeeeeeeeit. Whatever.

DeuceMojo - There are people who like skateboarding games and that will continue to like them. I've even enjoyed Tony Hawk games though they are hit-and-miss. They seemed to get the difficulty right by finally by awarding bronze medals that let newbies and non-enthusiasts pass (me) and allowing enthusiasts to get gold medals at much higher difficulties but then they'd have all these gated missions that required you to master a new skill that was often frustratingly difficult to pull off when all I really wanted to do was look cool pulling off crazy skating moves and have fun.

Point being, the "craze" isn't gone. However, I don't think that there are nearly as many young males who dream of being a professional skater as there are young males who dream of being rockstars. Guitar Hero made sense because it enabled an almost universal fantasy to be enacted. . . even if these games are as well-made, I don't think they'll have nearly as broad appeal.

I'm beginning to fear the idea of a future in video games where every game requires its own mandatory peripheral. How will I afford it???
