Our Friends over at XSeed send along word that their new murder mystery Nintendo DS title, Flower, Sun and Rain (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001HCQVYY?ie=UTF8&tag=evilavatarcom-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B001HCQVYY), is now shipping to retail stores.

Game publishers Marvelous Entertainment USA and XSEED Games announced today that Flower, Sun, and Rain has started shipping to retailers in North America for the Nintendo DS.

Flower, Sun, and Rain is the finest resort on earth. With its endless beaches, tropical forest, monolithic lighthouse and other hidden gems, Lospass Island, where the Flower, Sun, and Rain resort is located, is an island delight where even the most tense visitor can relax and forget all about time. On the island, the events of the same day seem to play out over and over again, ending in an explosive finale at the hands of terrorists.

With the help of your trusty partner and mechanical companion, “Catherine,” you can crack codes and unlock challenging puzzles to discover the mystery behind the time loop on Lospass Island. Catherine offers the main character, Sumio Mondo, basic functions to uncover clues that can be used to tackle all of the mysteries the island holds. Utilize Sumio’s partner to reference previous findings and clues, take notes, check items, or even save your progress. In the event Sumio is near an object that will benefit his current case, the “Jack-In” icon will appear, revealing Catherine’s true power… And so the adventure begins!

The Flower, Sun, and Rain story and universe were created by infamous, award-winning game designer, Suda51, and is rated “T” for “Teen” by the ESRB. The game carries a suggested MSRP of $29.99.

A murder-mystery DS game created by Suda51?

How have I not heard of this before now?!

I think it's a port/update of a Japanese PS2 game that never was released in the US, so, understandably, many people have never heard of this.

Also, it's not getting great reviews on metacritic.

I think I'll wait for "Womens Murder Club", the single best announcement of E3.

I just finished the European version, and it's not a murder mystery.

I should add that it is a mystery for the most part, but murder isn't the theme. I liked the game a lot, but I could see why many people wouldn't. Think of it as a slightly faster paced Hotel Dusk meets the style of Killer 7 or No More Heroes.

It's a great game, but it's definitely one of those love it/hate it type of games. It's a very strange, probably too strange for alot of people. If you like suda's other games you'll probably like it alot.
