London-born actress Rachel Weisz, who starred in Constantine, Runaway Jury, The Mummy and The Constant Gardener, may be voicing Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider: Legend.

Eidos and developer Crystal Dynamics hope to bring the Tomb Raider franchise and its leading lady back up to its formal status with Tomb Raider: Legend, by introducing a revamped look for Lara, more agile controls, a more cooperative camera and apparently big-name movie star support. The franchise has been on the outs quality-wise arguably since the third installment.
Sweet! Can't say I'm super-excited about Tomb Raider: Legend, but I do enjoy hearing Rachel Weisz's dulcet tones - very underappreciated actress.

I actually completely agree on this decision. Granted, its really just a slick move to try to make people buy the game after the travesties that previous versions have been, but its at least an appropriate actress to choose.

She was great in The Constant Gardener and would be perfect for a re-imagining of Lara Croft. She would bring a dialed down, sublte approach to the character's voice. An very good fit and one situition in which I can see a celebrity voice talent actually improving the experience.

And for the record, this is one franchise I really, really miss. I used to love the Tomb Raider games. Well, actually I loved the first game and the concept behind the rest of them. I have confidence in Crystal Dynamics being able to recreate what made the series great originally.

She's a great actress for sure, I too liked her performance most in Enemy at the Gates. She's still a bit under the radar unfortunately (at least I think so, if I dropped her name to friends they would say, "who?")...

if they need to re-do the control scheme for it i suggest the controls from gunvalkrie. well just the moving and aiming ones. far more realistic than most fps style controls, and work better for a 3rd person game to boot. what they did is have the left stick go forward and turn and the right stick would aim, which could accomplish all of the same things but felt far more natural once you got used to it.

Weisz is pretty hot.

Check out the film The Shape of Things....she is a very good actress. I honestly can say I didn't see the ending coming...first cinematic surprise I have had in ages. A good way to kill 2hrs or so.
