According to Gamedreamz.com (http://www.gamedreamz.com/index.cgi?m=stories&s=read&id=5169) we could soon be seeing a demo for Gears of War on XBox Live market place.
With Fight Night having just appeared out of nowhere, and Street Fighter on the way, amazing downloads were on a lot of CES attendees minds. One particular game demo that set the net alite was a 'Gears of War' demo possibly hitting the Marketplace this month! Yeah, the timing is laughably imaginative, but the demo is real, and may be coming sooner than you think. Epic and Cliffy B's baby boy has been shown everywhere the XBOX 360 has. Over the past 8 months they've managed to refine and polish several levels of the game to near Gold shine. A contact of mine at Microsoft says gamers can look forward to one of those levels arriving in the download center sometime soon. What that means is anyone's guess.
Update: This is false. Teaches me for linking to Gamedreamz.
There is no chance a demo level of Gears is hitting the Xbox Live Marketplace this month, next month or the month after that. We love the Xbox Live Marketplace and Xbox Live Arcade and have lots of cool ideas how we can leverage them but not until the game is finished and we don't realistically know when that will be at this point in time. I can tell you however that the game is incredible and there will be lots of cool stuff in it that you didn't expect to see. Sorry for the tease!

LMAO.
Bloody hell. Looks like i'll be staring at the download progress bar a lot in spring. What with this, Full Auto, Street Fighter Hyperfighting and Marble Blast Ultra.
Regarding Gears of War i'm not too convinced it's gonna be an amazing title. From the videos I saw the game looked very linear and it didn't move too well. The movement seemed clunky and awkward. It's a work in progress mind you so i'm probably wrong.
Gimme the demo

People often forget that GoW will be a kill.switch/ RE4 type of shooter and not a Halo/ Killzone one.
Second Person Shooter, interesting to say the least!
Ill buy this game once the nude CliffyB skin is made available.

You need to lay down the crack pipe if you think those screenshots are weak. Show me another game coming out this year with more impressive shots.

I have to agree, those screens looked good to me... granted that previous shots looked better, but that's probably because they were static shots and setup specifically to make pretty renderes for press release. Those look like actual screengrabs, even if the camera is floating around.

Oh, I'd pick up an Xbox360 just for that. Mmmm baby. ;)

Now, about those screenshot. Those are NOT new screen shots. In fact they're quite old and some aren't Gears at all. Here's what I wrote about them in a different thread on this forum...
These are very old images, mostly from our internal PR Kick-off meeting with Microsoft back in December 2004. They were never intended for release and they don't come anywhere close to representing what the game looks like today. In fact some of those images don't represent the game AT ALL! The grassy field images are from our GDC 2004 Unreal Engine 3 demo and NOT from Gears! That is TWO YEAR OLD engine demo content we showed to Microsoft PR people to give them an early flavor of what the tech could do. As you can probably guess we're pretty unhappy that these crappy images have surfaced. Unfortunately this isn't the first time our publisher has released content not intended for release and it feels like a punch in the gut every time it happens.

Over on VE3D the debunking article continues about the screenshots:
EDIT: nevermind, for some reason I didn't see the above retraction... d'oh!

Sounds good Mark, but you missed the most important part - what about the naked CliffyB skin???
