Ogaming.com (http://www.ogaming.com) has two new interviews up about Webzen's upcoming MMOs SUN and Huxley.
SUN sounds pretty cool. A fast-paced MMO has a nice ring to it...
The biggest bit of news, however, is that Huxley will let people fight each other online - whether they are on a PC or an XBOX360.
Console players prepare to get pwned!
"Huxley’s biggest feature is the cross-platform gameplay between Xbox 360 and PC players. "
Full interviews found here. (http://www.ogaming.com)

the interview for SUN was about as generic pr-speak as you could get, but it does look cool

Ack!
I guess I'll have to get this for the PC. . . which is sad since I can't afford to upgrade my rig. Maybe they'll come out with a wireless keyboard and mouse for the X360. . . and maybe I can find a sturdy, yet portable desk for my living room. . . *sigh*

Console players prepare to get pwned!
I hope we can one day see that a console player is the best player, and I can go:
"But, see, hes playing on a 360 and winning!!"
But, then someone will say he was using a keyboard and mouse, then someone will add that a 360 is just a really beefed up computer, then we can argue about which is better, kb/m or controller.
I just think being able to play a game on my console and fighting someone playing on a pc is cool. Even if I get owned.

I wish this would happen a bit more. They had DC/PC servers for Quake 3 ages ago with very little problem. PS2 players could play with the PC crowd. I'd love to see more cross-platform games compatible online, so we could come together like one big family and be nerds one and all

I hope it's not an MMOFPS...

I think the oppisate, the only decent attempt at an MMOFPS so far has been Planetside, which since its under SOE, has failed. It was fun but lacked alot of things, and the technology wasnt really all there at the time. I'd love to see another comapny take a try at it.

Console players prepare to get pwned! Are they going to let us console players download your wall-hacks and aim-bots? Because if not, I say that's unfair.
This is the game that the PC vs Console debate has been waiting for I guess.

If they have a server based system with like 80 servers like World of Warcraft I hope at least a few of them are console only or PC only. Otherwise it's going to be unfair on some level or another. Its cool to give people the option to play with/against friends on the pc but at the same time the controls are much different...
I could be wrong on this, and if so, please correct me, but aren't there other options besides PvP for this? I remember reading something about there being humans and mutants (both player-controlled) and a third race of some kind of alien that both factions have an issue with which are NPCs?
Again, I could be wrong about this, but if this is true isn't there a chance that console and PC gamers can finally work together and bring gaming into a new era of peace and prosperity (albeit less cheesy and creepy than I've made it sound)?

Final Fantasy XI will be the biggest example of cross platform play that I know of - PC, PS2, and Xbox 360, all playing together. Americans, Japanese, and those in Europe. Truly a global society there...

I seem to remember reading that Microsoft said they would never use a keyboard and mouse for gameplay for the 360. That would suck for the console portion of players.

No Microsoft was very adamant about no keyboard and mouse for the original xbox, but they are much more open about peripherals for the 360. They have established they are not making a webtv 2 so they aren't as scared about the perception of the 360 as a glorified pc.

I heard the same thing. I'm personally more amped for this than i was. It is a great idea for the pc - xbox 360 cross platform. This game looks very beautiful and I hope it lives up to expectations. If so, Korea can become Xbox's Japan. They have some good development houses and can crank out "JRPG's" like Magna Carta.

I think this is a great thing to be happening. It is about time that cross platform online play becomes the norm in multiplatform games. I must question the wisdom doing this in an FPS however, because even the most die hard console fan (of which I am one) must admit that the mouse is a far superior aiming tool than an analog stick. Most any other genre would be more suitable. Hopefully the makers of Huxley will recognize this and offer full keyboard and mouse support for the 360 version.

I can't wait to see Huxley, but two things:
1) Why on Earth did they name it Huxley? Seriously.
2) I really hope there's strong PvE.
3) What the heck is Nitro Family? (Rhetorical)
However, at the same time, we will still have a fun game that players can enjoy soloing as well.
I hope they stick to this. Any MMO you can't solo is an MMO I'm not as interested in.

I think it's the name of one of the more important background characters. Some scientist guy who saved the human race or something...Last I had heard, it was just the project name and nothing had been finalised.
I too hope there's decent SP in here, once in a while I like to just do my own thing.

This should prove to be interesting. Especially if the games controls are balanced for each respective platform.

Well Microsoft also said that the Xbox platform wouldn't affect PC software. We all know how that turned out...

If it involves aiming at ALL, 360 owners are gonna get pwned.

Best 72 hours of gaming I can remember. Imagine the helicopter scene from 'Apocalypse Now' extended across an entire continent.
Then it got incredibly boring once you realized that your entire existence meant retaking bases that you only took a few hours ago. There was no sense of accomplishment and strategy; just one rolling thunder attack after another. No front lines because the enemy could drop anywhere in the world.

Indeed, the fact that even if you took all of one factions conts they could just start off again anew sucked. I didnt really like BFR's at all, they have however reactivated all accounts for 30 days. I'm back in and giving it a shot, same problems as before, just less people around. It is none the less fun to go back to it after so long.

I heard infiltration suits got nerfed. That was my only lasting joy in that game, and I did everything in it (CR 5, commanded the #1 outfit on the server, had a better point/member ratio than any other top 10 outfit (we weren't a zerg outfit), etc.)
Haven't played with the BFR's. They look cool, but the basic gameplay was bad. Best xp in the game is to join the zerg and spam. There is no skill plateau. . . the best players are only slightly better than the worst. Success came from working well as a group, but even a group of superior players with superior team management could not overcome a zerg, especially with lag.
I think I'd change this to make the maps instanced so that teams are even, give players weapons that play a lot differently, change up the base raids so that vehicles can be used in them to good effect (like Assault maps on UT2K4), and let everyone use every weapon in the game. Basically, I'd like to play UT2K4 with a world server that tracks progress and bonuses for factions that are doing well on a continent.
Having even teams is a big barrier to repeatable and fun PvP in MMOs. Guild Wars and WoW are doing it right with instancing. Still, both of these have problems with being loot based more than skill based (WoW much more than GW). GW has it's problems, but it is definitely the best PvP I've seen in an MMO.
