Thanks to TeamXbox (http://www.teamxbox.com) for the news (http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/10040/BLACK-Web-Site-Goes-Live/).
EA announced today that the official web site for BLACK has gone live and can be found at http://black.ea.com/. The site features the latest news, videos and screenshots plus a link to a pre-order campaign allowing gamers to unlock the BLACK’s massive BFG.
Each section also allows gamers to test drive a different weapon from the game, with an explosive point-and-shoot interface. Lock and load!!
Note - You may need to update your Macromedia Flash Player to fully experience the site. You can download and install it from here (http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash) - be sure to uncheck the Yahoo! Toolbar box unless you want that installed as well.
Now this is a game I'm very interested in. My only hope is that there's some substance to the game and it's not just all about admittedly pretty graphics.

They certainly know how to make their games pretty!

I wonder if they will port this to the 360 3 months later... I may hold off and wait for that.

Did anyone notice the "steady hand" of the demo? It looked almost as if there was no kickback from the gun that was firing.

Well I noticed that the term BFG has become generic. Not seeing anything here that looks like a must buy. I'm playing FEAR at the moment and so far it's a yawn. Just imagine every level as grey and with crates and so far that appears to be the whole game. I got sucked in by the hype. I am hearing great things about GUN. Also I did not need to upgrade my flash player site worked fine.

GUN rocks! And thanks for the Flash news - I've updated the note.

That game looks pretty impressive...to be honest I'm amazed its a PS2 game. No disrespect to the system seeing as its the only one I own.
The particle effects and volumetric lighting look fantastic...

Not that you aren't allowed to dislike FEAR, but if all you're looking for it pretty backgrounds... well... then yeah, you'd be dissapointed.
The great thing about FEAR was definitely NOT the setting, I too found that incredibly repetative and boring to look at... but the level design (layout) and the firefights/enemy AI was what really made the game great for me. The story sucked. The setting sucked. But the gameplay was amazing, and that's what counts for me.
Oh, and Black looks interesting. As has been said, very impressive graphics. I may give it a try, I'll have to see if it has a Southpaw setting for the controls. Somehow I doubt it will, since 90% of console FPS's leave that option out these days... hence the reason I said FUCK console FPS's after Halo... damn near nothing caters to us left handed people. They put every control method in EXEPT simply switching the functions of the left and right sticks with eachother. Moronic developers (sorry, there's a lot of FPS's on console I'd love to play if I could).
Playing the "right handed" way is like trying to write with my right hand. It's just backwards and uncomfortable, and even though I've literally been trying for years, I just can't get good at it.
Kind of like trying to masturbate with the oposite hand... you just have no control.

What Underhero said about Fear.
Also, Black looks real great, for sure, but I'm withholding any real opinion until I can play it. Console FPS's. :\

I'm only half way through FEAR. The combat is pretty good. As a total package though
the set as most of you seem to admit is a bit bland. I was expecting more. I'll finish it for sure but I'm looking for something that pushes the needle ahead bit. Gun looks like it'll be fun. A demo would go along way to pushing me towards buying it though.

Why aren't they releasing Black on PC? Consoles are vastly inferior for FPS games. Try sniping me with your 1-inch range of motion analog stick while I deftly right click up to your face in .5 seconds. Like Path of Neo, I'm predicting this game will suffer from horrible slowdown cause it's pushing 5 year old hardware too hard.

My money is on Criterion. I played a good chunk of an early version on the PS2 in September and things blowed up real good. :p It also looks fantastic. Gun porn never looked so good.

That's because there is no kickback/recoil in the game. Critierion wanted nothing to get in the way of you shooting the shit out of stuff so there is no recoil or reload animation. Black is definitely not intended to be realistic whatsoever - just an unrealistic, cinematic shooter.
The question is - does that also apply to enemy AI?

Ah, more of an arcade feel to the gameplay. Depending on how fast paced the game is, it looks like an incredibly fun game to try out at least.
Can white people play this too?

Not unless you suck my dick.
Sorry, that's the only way.
Damn. Too bad I'm boycotting EA games. :/ Those videos looked pretty.
...Although it's only coming out on consoles from what I can tell, which means I was less likely to try it, anyway.

mos: just rent it; EA basically gets jack shit if you Gamefly it.

FEAR kicks ass. Haters need to look past its generolevels and embrace the hottest gunfights in FPS history.
Nothing to say about Black, just couldn't let FEAR bashing go unchallenged!
