Want to know how real the cities are in Project Gotham 3? Evilgamerz (http://www.evilgamerz.com/index.php?action=fullnews&showcomments=1&id=3525)found some pictures of a guy who went on a trip to Japan.
So how does Project Gotham Racing 3 compare to real life? When a gaming fan recently got back from a holiday trip to Japan, he set up some very impressive comparison screens. For each in-game urban scene that's pictured, there is real life counterpart to view.

wow...that's pretty sick. It's kind of ironic the best more realistic looking cities are in a game where you hardly get to appreciate it. Hopefully we'll see things like True Crime and other type titles go into this kind of detail.

I know what you mean Bapenguin. Its a shame you don't notice the detail unless its maybe Gotham TV.
If the next GTA has this type of realism I will be impressed.

If it weren't for Gotham TV i'd probably have missed most of the detail. I mean that really is insane, wonder how much all that attention to detail cost?

OMG... It's the freaking Matrix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to believe it's true, but my head tells me it can't be real!

The in-car view of PGR still blows me away every time I play.
Bizarre truly raised the bar with this game.

2 things wrong with in-car view:
1) You can't see the rear view mirrors without using the right thumbstick. I don't know if this is because I'm racing at 4:3 and not HD widescreen.
2) Because the view is offset left or right, unless you're in the McLaren, I always slam into those pillars-from-hell on a few of the London tracks.
I always use the view that comes after in-car. Bumper high? Nice sense of speed too. And the engine growls louder.

I used the bumper view on tracks where there's a lot of crap in the road, or a lot of narrowing streets. I find that it's hard to see some of these obstructions when in cockpit view. That's my only real problem with it.

the only thing that tipped me off to which pics were real and which were not was the pic with all the traffic in it (unless PGR3 has unlockable minivans). other than that, it was impossible for me to tell in all the others. crazy.

That is absolutely amazing. I never realized how much environmental detail was put into that game. I think 360 needs a good adventure game with the same quality of environments as PGR3 or DOA4 (which also has amazing scenery). That would be friggin sweet!

Yeah, those look really great :), hopefully we will get an RPG that has that kind of detail :)
