Are you sure MS is completely doing away with MS points? I had only heard that they're not using them for the full game direct downloads over Xbox Live - not that they were getting rid of them entirely.

Now, I dislike Microsoft Funbucks as much as the next guy but I do sort of see a reason for them. It's nice that they can announce a new release on XBLA and say it's 800MS points and that is relevant to people no matter where they live and what their currency. Whereas if things were listed in dollars, then they would say the new Rock Band tracks are $2 but then that doesn't mean $2 to me up in Canada. I would then have to convert it to $2.21 or whatever in Canadian funds.

Admittedly, my argument completely breaks down when I point out the fact that using the current system I still have to convert MS points to CDN funds =/
