Has anyone tried this yet? It sounds like a blend of the futuristic, dystopic, sorcerous world of the table-top RPG Shadowrun mixed with a little bit of Diablo.
Does it have Silent Storm's turn based gameplay? Please post reviews.

Already another game on the Silent Storm engine? I was only recently floored by the Hammer & Sickle demo; then I checked out the original Silent Storm demo. Now this? For goodness's sake, I have homework!

Hammer & Sickle and Silent Storm are similar games, this merely uses the same engine but is a totally different concept and genre ...
Too bad for your homework though :)

Anyone seen the movie? I was handed down a pretty good copy of it. Anyone know if it will ever get released in the states? Trailer has been on apple.com for ages.
After seeing the movie I can't wait to try out this game.

"In the not-too-distant future-
Next Sunday A.D.-
There was a guy named Joel,
Not too different from you or me.
He worked at Gizmonic Institute,
Just another face in a red jumpsuit.
He did a good job cleaning up the place,
But his bosses didn't like him
So they shot him into space.
We'll send him cheesy movies,
The worst we can find (la-la-la).
He'll have to sit and watch them all,
And we'll monitor his mind (la-la-la).
Now keep in mind Joel can't control
Where the movies begin or end (la-la-la)
Because he used those special parts
To make his robot friends..."

Well, I did exactly as I "didn't" want to do, and I played it. It actually is a very similar game in terms of mechanics and also the same genre. It's also made by the same company. The biggest differences seem to be a stronger emphasis on close combat, magic (duh), a more cinematic presentation, and some of the wonderful complexity taken out (crouching/walking/running are automatically determined). The Twilight world is pretty neat.
The only issues I have are that automatic handling of movement, since I think running still more efficiently spends ability points, and that when you order a character around in real-time (outside of combat) the other characters follow. That isn't very good for tactics.
I certainly like it, but I think I'm going to have to get Hammer & Sickle first. The "non-linear" plot intrigues me, plus I like all the guns, exsplosives, and destructable environments.
However, Night Watch has halogen lamps as special weapons. Yes!

Robot roll call... Cambot! Gypsie!
And so on. Heh, I've got all the variations of the theme song memorized. And to get back on topic... Downloading now! Sounds kind of cool, but I saw a 1.6/5 rating at File...shack...rush... Ah well. I'll see for myself.

I loved Silent Storm, but Hammer & Sickle is severely pissing me off. It is more difficult, but in cheap ways. It repeatedly start off battles with you standing right in front of enemies who are already aware of you with guns pointed at you. Also, I'm finding the goals rather vague, and there's a time limit on achieving them so I keep on missing them. The weight limits on what characters can carry, while a good idea, are too restrictive. A soldier with a strength of 9 (out of 10) can't carry a light machinegun and one drum of ammo without going to 150% capacity and loosing a chunk of action points. Characters with lower strength can barely carry a SMG some ammo, grenades and maybe some med or other supplies without going over.
Overall it has potential but is unpolished in some ways, and very irritating in others.
