I absolutely LOVED GalCiv 1. It was one of the best 4X games I've ever played. If the sequel doesn't render my computer a pile of smoking chips, I'll definately give it a try.

I'm hoping they leave multiplayer in, since we haven't had a 4x game with multil since MOO2.

cIV did that for me, actually, so I now have a nice clean palette for GalCivII.

I have only heard good things about GalCiv and it seems to be right up my alley, I will definetly be checking out the sequel.

Agreed. After MOO3 I was severely traumatized, as I confess I spent ages running through the various forums trying to get the game to be cool, but ultimately failed. When GALCIV came out I couldn't bring myself to play it. I was already crushed.

Drama aside. I'm putting my money down immediately for this. I need some space empire 4X!
