Soon after the news of Irrational Games' buyout by T2 Interactive broke out, Gamecloud (http://www.gamecloud.com/article.php?article_id=2971) and IGN (http://pc.ign.com/articles/679/679870p1.html) swung into action with a twofold of Ken Levine and his thoughts on the benefit of having sufficient funding, stability, and something about settling down...

IGN: How is BioShock coming along? We assume the game gets a boost from the support of a company like Take Two.

Ken Levine: BioShock plus lots more development funds = better BioShock. Also, the kind of marketing support you get by being an internal team is just a whole different ball of wax.

Gamecloud - Does the purchase by Irrational affect the status of long-in-development game The Lost or is that game officially cancelled?

Ken Levine - No comment.

He even answered one of his own questions http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Ken Levine - EA recently re-filed for a trademark for a System Shock 3. Is Irrational worried that EA might try to release a third game in the series that Irrational had a hand in and release it around the time of BioShock?

Ken Levine - The more people who make games like Shock 2 and BioShock the merrier as far as I’m concerned. Open-ended coolness is not about any one franchise. System Shock was an extension of a type of game started with the Ultima Underworld series, and was continued with games like Deus Ex, Morrowind and even Grand Theft Auto. What’s cool is that now, unlike in 1999 when Shock 2 came out, when I say “open-ended” and “emergent” people don’t look at me like I’m on peyote.
Muchas gracias RPG. (http://rpgdot.com/)

Wow, so much interesting news so quicky. Oh my! This "sounds" good, and I am glad to here that opinion of the developer translates to: more money = better game. Which, I intepret as "we were doing fine before, but this extra money is just going to help us make it better and with more polish".

This sounds good and I wish all the best for Ken and his team.... I also wish Bio would be releasted a lot sooner but I would rather have a finished game than another KoTOR II

Si vas a decirlo en otro idioma chequea primero, piensa antes de actuar.

I hope this works out to the best for the Irrational folks. I've loved both Freedom Force games and can't wait to play more from'em.

I think it would be totally awesome if BOTH Bioshock and System Shock 3 turned out to be awesome, but different games. System Shock 2 I felt got a little tedious some times, but it just had so much to love.

Doesn't matter which game is the true successor to the throne, I hope they both turn out good.
