In case you haven't seen the screens of the new Horde race, The Blood Elves, yet, here's your chance (http://rpg.boomtown.net/en_uk/articles/art.view.php?id=10270). Blood Elves will be added with the release of the first World of Warcraft expansion, The Burning Crusade.

Well, if I were going to single handedly defeat the alliance, I'd certainly want to do it wearing only my Victoria's Secret push-up bra!!

Perhaps that is a testament to how polished WoW is. They're using their expansion efforts to make sure there are enough titties and ass on either faction.

I loved WoW for three months. Waiting for the next MMORPG with that level of polish to occupy me for three months.

The Pandaren obviously lacked that vital T&A.

I'd say pick up WoW again when this expansion comes out. Sounds like there will be enough content to keep you happy for at LEAST a month.

The Pandaren obviously lacked that vital T&A.

Well, yeah, that and, would pandaren be Horde anyways?

I believe the Pandas would have been Horde if they were included. Instead we get demon-doped up elves. Gosh, I feel lucky. I'm sure the story of how the "recently demon free" Orcs accepted demon magic using elves will be a good quality sentence.

Of course, I would rather have Warcraft tank as an MMO than Starcraft.

Well, the Forsaken doesn't really fit in with the rest of the Horde, so I guess it's no big deal to add another angsty, anti-Alliance faction to the Horde. And yeah, it helps that they look good in lingerie, apparently.

Blood Elf in a bikini. Just shameful.

Old x 10 and the Blood Elves suck.

People keep complaining that the Horde has no attractive race... which I've always thought is strange. The orc chicks are cute.

I mean, seriously... gnomes and dwarves aren't exactly pure sexiness either, and the night elves... *shudder*.

I dont see why it freaking matters!!! Oh noes!1! /cry!! My 13 year old self needs a hot race so I can fap while I play!!!

I dont mean this to Royal or anyone in particular here, but the argument itself is just ridiculous. Besides, having any form of Elves on my side makes me cringe, Ill probably quit soon after the expansion... Someone said something like "imagine the horror of seeing Blood elves flipping around orgrimmar"... I think Ill hang myself once I see that...

I know you're not dissing the over-cuteness of gnome females. Don't EVEN go there.

A nude patch can be made within hrs of someone having it. The skining community for WoW is quite large. Most of the fem alliance NPCs in my game are running around in skimpy clothing and all player chars are nude with no clothes.

In pre file planet beta there were armors that were more reveling than the normal underware thats in the game now, but they were taken out.

OK, some Blizzard nerd explain this to me. What's the difference between the Night Elves and the Blood Elves? (or the High Elves, as they were originally called.) Didn't they both come from the same race?

I'm far from 100% sure of this (always have trouble keeping game lore straight), but I actually don't think they do come from the same race. Or if they do, there's tens of thousands if not millions of years of seperation between them -- enough that they've grown into very different races at this point.

hell, I might install that just to get rid of the ever-more-ridiculous shoulderpads.

As for blood elves, they aren't any more demon-doped than your average orc warlock. And its not like those are a rare commodity.

<ahem>

The Blood Elves are the survivors of the High Elves, who were almost wiped out when Arthas destroyed their homeland of Quel'thalas. The Night Elves and High Elves split after the first war with the Burning Legion. The High Elves believed that magic was not something they could give up, and the Night Elves believed that magic was what led the Burning Legion to Azeroth in the first place. The High Elves left in a huff and founded their own civilization on the continent of Azeroth, eventually allying with the humans and dwarves first against the indigenous trolls and then against the Orcs after the Dark Portal was opened. Meanwhile the night elves adopted a very druidic style of life and viewed themselves as caretakers of the world. Millennia past and each other's roots were mostly forgotten until the second Burning Legion invasion pushed the war from Azeroth to Kalimdor again and the races rediscovered each other.

[speculation]
The Blood Elves will become a part of the horde mostly through their common hatred of the Scourge with the Forsaken. It's very much a enemy-of-my-enemy-is-my-friend situation. The rest of the Horde takes their cues from Thrall and will follow his lead to take in the Blood Elves and attempt to cure them of their magical addition in the same manner the Orcs were cured of their demonic influence.

Am I the only one who things Blizzard is being lazy as heck by having the Blood Elves as a new race? I mean, its a race of mean Night Elves, couldn't they at least come up with something that at least looked different?

That's because either their account got hacked or they purposely removed their clothes. If you really are using a skin for your character, no one else will see it unless they download the same skin and install it.

You can rearrange and modify the way WoW reads items out of its database to display on characters. I've seen shots of casters with huge keys on their backs. It isn't traditional skinning per se, it's changing the item database so it thinks the graphic for everything is nothing :P

That's all he's saying, yo. That he downloaded the patch and is running it.

Main difference? Looks like a palette swap from where I'm sitting. :-)

I hate to say it but it's pretty obvious that the blood elves are an attempt at game balance. Not enough people play the horde faction and it makes things like battlegrounds not work quite as well as they should. Personally I have too much time invested in my alliance characters to switch now, boobies or no boobies.

Dude! That is exactly what I said when I was playing Warcraft 3. WTF is this?! Night Elves?! They look like High Elves but are darker and with glowing rave eyes. Damn lazy Blizzard! Then with TFT they have the Blood Elves, another lazy change! Lazy Blizzard! Rargh! LOL! Killin' me!
