Here is the official Press Release announcing Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the Sony PSP and PSP Go.

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced an all-new Metal Gear Solid title for PSP (PlayStation Portable), entitled Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Designed as a full sequel to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, the PSP title offers an unique, new game system and an original story from series creator Hideo Kojima.

Developed by the legendary Hideo Kojima – the mastermind behind the most successful video game tactical-espionage series of all time – this latest PSP installment picks up where Metal Gear Solid 3 left off. Players take control of the famed Snake, in a thrilling story set in 1974.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker features original game design, story and scenario by Hideo Kojima. Scheduled to launch in 2010, the game takes the series in an exciting new direction with its incredible visuals and its unique new game system designed specifically with the PSP in mind.

“With Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Kojima Productions has once again pushed the limits of the PSP system, creating a beautiful sequel to Metal Gear Solid 3,” said Martin Schneider, European Marketing Director for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker lets players take the action and excitement of a console game to the PSP, and is a stunning addition to MGS Lore.”

Speaking of the PSP Go. I've come up with an couple ideas.

#1 - All retail games from here on should come with a download code to download the game at no additional charge. So you can go retail and buy the UMD copy and still have the download copy if you get a PSP Go.

#2 - All existing UMD game owners should be able to provide proof of ownership on existing PSP games that will be availiable for download. Do a mail in offer where you mail in you UPC code from the game and maybe a small admin fee of $2-5 to get a download code emailed to you.

These things would make me consider buying a PSP Go since I already own about 40-50 PSP games.

#1 What stops people from downloading the game and then returning or selling the UMD version?

#2 How would the proof of ownership work? If anything they would have to like let you mail the game in for a download code, but who would do that. I'd rather do that then send the UPC from my games, I'd rather no longer have a physical copy than have the barcode cut out of the sleeve.

Took a nice couple of digs at his MGS announcement for MS "not a secondary character" and all the like.

Hand, biting, feeding and all that.
