Engadget has dug up (http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/30/sonys-psp-go-leaks-out-before-e3-is-obviously-a-go/) a leaked video of Sony's PSP Go.
The images here were sourced from an obviously slipped June 2009 Qore video, and aside from giving us a look at the slider-based system, we're also told that it'll tout 16GB of internal memory, built-in Bluetooth and an undisclosed memory slot.
See for yourself after the break!

Is it just me or are there 2 analog sticks on that psp go? If thats the case I might end up purchasing one after all.

That looks gross. Don't know why they couldn't throw in a second analogue, but I guess if it runs the same games as PSP, it'd be foolish to cut their market in half once the Go hits. Developers would have to make the second analogue an optional feature so their games would be accessible to both handhelds.

bah, definitely a non-purchase here then. great job listening to your customers sony. Your slide screen portable still leaves the screen exposed too. *golf clap*
I'd trade up if they had improved the nub. It looks the same though and I'm not sure about that slider desisgn. Looks like a weird "PSP2" fan knockup.

Is the thing still umd-less? I cant wait for the angry parents to blow a gasket when they realize the old psp games dont work on it and they need to give their kids a credit card to get new content for their new(old) system.

I agree, I just can't see people flocking to this if they cannot play their old games.

My biggest concern is that it still looks like the controller nubs are still positioned for people with hands the size of a 3 year old. I swear I cannot use the PSP for anything resembling an extended playtime without getting cramped hands.

Finally a version with no UMD. Screw people with no credit card. Gimme downloadable content like the iphone instead.

UMD or not, it's all about the games...let's see how they do this fall with the platform. I know they have some big properties coming to PSP this fall so I may actually break down and get the Go if there's enough games worth playing.

This looks simply unplayable. The guy on the picture seems to have small hands and his thumb is about to commit suicide. It looks like kids' hands, actually.

I actually like the look and smaller size.
How they're gonna pull it off as a replacement to the current psp, I have no idea?

I'm just disappointed, I really dig the idea of the PSP but the execution falls short for me. Battery life isn't that big of a coffin nail in my opinion but the comfort issue really is, current PSPs are awkwardly small for me and the idea of a top heavy version of that cramped config makes my fingers hurt just thinking about it. And come on select and start need to be center above dual analogs! That's not that hard of a logic jump dudes.

I love my PSP, and this looks like a downgrade. Sony really has lost it all.

The way the guy's hands are on it I can't help but think it would be more comfortable to use if the direction pad and action buttons were closer to the middle rather than the edges, perhaps with the nub in the middle between them on the bottom. That way the thumbs would be resting over the pads more naturally rather than having to jack knife.

This (http://www.gp2xstore.com/gp2x-wiz-handheld-linux-game-console.html) is the latet version of my favorite hand held.
The Wiz, Gamepark Holdings latest offering, is essentially the Gp2x F200 on steroids. The new console boasts a 533MHz ARM9 CPU with 3D acceleration. Ram size is now 64MB and has 1GB of internal memory. Other improvements over the F200 console includes a OLED Touch Screen Panel, 2000mAh Lithium Polymer battery, and a slimmer form factor.

It uses flash memory and is about the size of a DS lite. If you are into homebrew or roms, this is it.

Soo.... Not only can you not use your old UMD games on this, you also can't use your old memory card either?! That's just a wierd decision. Even with the DSi nintendo maintained a pretty decent level of BC with DS games, and added a slew of features. The PSPgo lookes like a gimped PSP with onboard memory. It looks like that battery is not user replaceable, and I'd bet Sony has put in a little extra security to prevent hombrew apps from running (including locking away the battery).

That chick is pretty hot for a girl next door kind of girl...and her top made her look busty. :)
My two favorite things from the whole vid were the clips of new games like LBP and a jak and daxter title. YES...
Plus the fact that he said all the older PSP games will be available for download. Wow, the amount of downloadable games on PSN is going to be insane soon!

I wouldn't mind getting one, depending on the price tag.

Sony will bring out an external UMD reader that will allow the transfer of the games to GO.

absolutely love the idea of linking to my ps3 remotely but I can't stand the nub on my psp (so I never play games on it). Maybe the go's will be more comfortable and usable

i actually think it looks cool. but you had better be able to somehow use your umd games with it. maybe install them to the memory cards or something. IT NEEDS BC!!!!!!!!! FULLY!!!!!!!

Might just be me, but it seems like that nub is too far in the center of the system for comfortable use. Like the no UMD, but without a way to transfer existing UMD's not too interested. Also, when they say all PSP games will be available for download. Do they mean ALL PSP games or just all SONY PSP games? Guess we gotta wait and see.

After long deliberations I decided that the PSP GO is a NO GO for me.
I like the new design, but I’m one of those people who still like disks.

Yeah, after watching the longer video I'm pretty much left on the fence. I'm not a PS3 owner and I imagine I won't become one anytime soon so long as they keep that ridiculous price tag on it. It pretty much breaks down to an even list of pros and cons...
Pro:
16GB internal memory is awesome
Downloading movies/TV shows sounds promising
Lighter weight is a plus considering how uncomfortable my old PSP is to play
Con:
It's practically another stand alone platform
No backward compatibility with my old PSP games (although most of them weren't that great to begin with)
Do I actually care about downloading movies/TV shows to watch on a tiny screen?
I mean, I don't even really use my Xbox 360 for games much anymore (being out of work for 6 months will do strange things to your gaming appetite) other than watching movies or streaming Netflix TV shows... which I am much happier watching on my nice TV. Beyond that, I still have a backlog of games that I need to buy and play through (Gears 2, Burnout Paradise, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed... I mean a list that goes WAY BACK to fall 2008). So yeah. Fence.

The best part of the PSP for me was the screen size. I have the first PSP version and absolutely love the screen. Goes with me to watch movies whenever I travel.
The video mentioned that the screen size of PSPGo is 3.8 inches. That is much smaller than the PSP 4.3 inches. Bad decision Sony!!! There is no way I will be getting this.

People keep saying that sony will release a device to copy your umds to a psp go, this will not happen. You could get a bunch of umds from gamefly copy them and send them back. Unless they talk stores into allowing a kiosk that copies games then crushes the physical disk afterwards (meaning if the game is deleted you lose it forever, and can no longer play on your old psp), which again will simply not happen.

I thought the screen was larger, and immediately thought "insta-buy!". But smaller? Really? Hahahahaha, fuck them then! I'll buy some music gear instead.

What bothers me the most is that there still isn't a second analogue control. They finally have a chance to revise the damned thing but they go with just making it more compact without adding additionaly functionality. WHAT THE FUCK. >_< Still i'm stuck with a psp3000...this just doesn't seem worth it to trade in my 3000 for. -_-
by the way. For those who don't know, the girl in the video is Veronica Belmont (http://www.veronicabelmont.com/). Well known in the gaming scene. I first heard of her in World of Warcraft podcasts.
On topic. I was a little relieved that this is the new model since I just bought a 3000 earlier this year and would have been a little annoyed if this one would kill it. This reminds me of the Game Boy Micro that did not kill the earlier version.
Its smallness will probably be attractive to someone though since the other PSP's hardly fits in a pocket.

Why did they make the screen smaller ? Wasn't the original screen, one of the major selling points of the PSP ?
