Chrono Symphonic, one of the biggest fan soundtrack projects ever, has been released (http://chrono.ocremix.org/) and provides 25 high quality tracks inspired by the legendary Squaresoft game Chrono Trigger. Here is some info from the authors:

Initially designed to be the soundtrack for the long-desired Chrono Trigger movie (no, the movie doesn’t exist and probably never will), it encompasses 18 different artists' takes on the way such a film should sound in an orchestral setting, and many more on how it should look and feel. Never has such an abundance of talent been thrown into such a powerful calling, and never has the game Chrono Trigger, which many of us grew up playing, known so much love.

Do yourself a favor and download this now!

Listened to it yesturday. It's ok. Hard to tell which tracks are what though. And avoid that vocal one. Ugh...

I'm going to download it now :D

The fact that they said will never release a movie make me sick, i mean for years we have seen all kind of crap movies come and go. Why no one will consider making a movie about this game, could result interesting, don't you think?

I'll have to download this. Is Frog's theme in there? That was a good tune.

Edit: After looking through the site, there's a few songs based off of Frog's theme. Guess I'm not the only one who liked it ^__^.

This is amazing, just the scope of what they've tried to accomplish. Even have a script/online.

It's my dream to be able to make music from tools like what they used. I just wish I knew what tools they used :-(

I've always enjoyed the OC Remix crew's versions of the classic Chrono Trigger themes. This is another gem from them. Thanks for the info!

Thank God for Bittorrent. I really didn't want to click on every file and try to downloa them off a site that is more than likely getting it bandwidth raped. I can't wait to hear this. I'm going to listen to it all day tomorrow at work. In case there are any out there who like to sign online petitions, there is one to get CT remade. Here is the link (http://vizzed.com/ctremake/).

Edit: Um, ew. Nevermind. The Torrent includes two copies of each song (one in .flac format), and it's not zipped. Waste of bandwidth.

Second edit: Nevermind the nevermind. I just figured out how to remove files from torrent in Azerus. :D

Eh, CT gets too much attention on OCR. The soundtrack is good, but 66 remixes, and half of those Zeal? Ugh. Where's Woodman from Megaman 2? Where's Super Dodgeball?

Diversify.

Project X did all of MM2 many years ago, they got Woodman so pure I don't think anyone else has bothered attempting it. There's Super Dodgeball stuff around as well, though it may be lost to time by now.

Wow, most of these remixes actually suck. I've heard much better.

They especially fucked up my own theme.

In terms of this being a supposed movie soundtrack it's actually quite good, imo. If you are expecting normal remixes this isn't it.

Only a few of the Project X tracks were successfully submitted to the site, and the Woodman theme is way minimalist, clearly an afterthought compared to some of the other Project X tracks. And there are no Super Dodgeball songs on OCR proper, I don't follow their forum.

Oh, and their Super Dodgeball project seems iffy. It started in May and they have 6 WIP (that I could find, likely more somewhere in the thread), only one of which I've really enjoyed (Moscow). Their shadow-team track should've been much better, the source material is great, but they don't play up its main theme at all. It'd be great if they could keep the interest in it up, but for now no track has made it past the judges or been considered a final part of the collection.

Pure as I call it, none of this over the top bullshit you see in some remixes.
