Coming October 9–11, 2009 at Radio City Music Hall (http://theradiocitylotrconcert.com/) in New York City, the 21st Century Orchestra will be performing the entire score of Lord of the Rings live, while Lord of the Rings is playing on a big screen projection behind them.

Beneath an immense projection of Peter Jackson's film, the 21st Century Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Ludwig Wicki, will perform Howard Shore's entire Academy Award®-winning score. Joining them will be the acclaimed voices of The Collegiate Chorale, The Brooklyn Youth Chorus, and soprano Kaitlyn Lusk.

This is an incredibly unique chance to experience the power of J.R.R. Tolkien's tale and Howard Shore's stirring, evocative music in a fully immersive environment—a true twenty-first century amalgam of sight and sound, intellect and emotion.

Nerds everywhere are quivering with joy.

Years after the movies have come and gone, I still listen to the 3 soundtracks semi-regularly. Really well done orchestral stuff. Some of the themes really evoke portions of the movie vividly in my head.

Good stuff.

Wish I could go. This sounds really cool. I still pop in the DVD's every other week for a quick fix.

Still the greatest movie(s) of all time.

Moria sucks so bad. But before that it was great. If you talking about LOTRO that is.

Average movie? Really?

AVERAGE?

How about the most decorated (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0167260/awards) movie of all time? How does that sound?

Regardless if you think it's a great movie or not, to call it average is incorrect.
