I figured I would give everyone a heads up: The Fight Night Round 3 demo is now up on XBox Live and weighs in at a little over 450 megs.

Enjoy!

I may be mistaken, but I think this is the first X360 demo to be downloadable prior to the release of the game. What a nice way to get a preview of a game I've been looking forward to.

I tried it out tonight and I think the best way to describe it is DAY-YUM! Incredible graphics on this bad boy and (from what I can tell since I'm not exactly a fan of boxing games) pretty good controls/gameplay. If you want to be really impressed check out the backgrounds as the match is going. Oh, and that trailer floating around? The game looks that good. There's sweat on the skin of the fighters, not just a "glow" but they actually look sweaty. This game is going to turn a lot of heads when it comes out.

The graphics are definately incredible but the animation is not very impressive and the hits seem to lack any force. I noticed some pretty bad clipping as well. Hopefully EA will fix this before the game is released. The controls are very smooth, I normally suck at boxing games but I really enjoyed this demo.

Game will be released in 4-5 months no? Amazing they already want to show a demo.

Ok I've seen some shots and movies and this is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GAME EVER MADE.

This is just like CG, I'm awed....

I was fairly suprised to see a demo of this so early but I sure aint complaining.
Man oh man does it look good. Really "next gen". Wasnt this shown during the PS3 unveiling at e3 last year. Not to say that i thought it was going to be PS3 exclusive but I thought they were trying to show of what the PS3 could do and this demo looks just as good as that demonstration. I wonder what a revolution version would look like cause throwing punches with that controller (or better yet 2) would be way better than the stilted feel of the analog stick.
Also on an unrelated note, downloading cool demos this early is rad. Props to xbox live and all it features. easily my favorite thing about my 360 so far:)

Amazing demo! My roommate and I must have played a dozen matches tonight and we couldn't get enough. It looks amazing and plays really well once you get used to all the controls. More thoughts:

- The jabs don't feel as swift or offsetting as you'd expect. It's hard to get a left-left-right combo off if you know what I mean (I'm no boxing expert here).
- The body blows just kind of hit and don't stun or open up your opponent. Maybe I need more practice.
- The replays make the action look, er, tame I guess it is. Punches just hit with a dull thud. And frequently bad camera work (replays only) highlights some wonky collision.

+ No HUD is very, very cool. You don't need health meters or a timer, the audio and visuals provide all the feedback you need.
+ Hard hitting impact shots. Don't know what you mean Grifter, the really hard hitting shots you land on an open opponent just look and feel awesome to me.
+ Great in-game camera work. No fight looks or feels the same because the camera is so dynamic and reacts well to the action.
+ Oh yeah, the characters are unbelievably good looking. Unreal.

I had little interest in this game before today but it's now on my list for February 14. My roommate is even thinking of getting a 360 now, mainly because he's a boxing fiend though. EA Chicago seems to have a winner here.

I played it and was underwhelmed by the feeling of dull contact with most of my punches. I am terrible at this type of game though but besides it looking fantastic I am not all that impressed. There seems to be almost no speed to any punches thrown , however like I said above I am not good at this type of game so maybe I am not doing the correct button presses. That being said , I was only playing against the console so maybe against another human being it would be more interesting to me.

Hmmmm, if the speed and contact are anything like they are in Fight Night Round 2, then they got it right. Watch a real boxing match sometime; you'll be amazed that many knockout shots don't look very impressive at all.

Of course, since I'm still 360-less, I can't argue this point for Round 3 firsthand. So jealous~~~ T-T

It needs work. How the fuck do you block? Also, the movement is too slow - half the time I'm shuffling my way towards my opponent when I want to be lunging in or just plain running. The jabbing is also too slow. It's also got far too much emphasis on the blood-n-guts violence. That's not what boxing is about - they should save the slow-mo spit flying for UFC/MMA stuff.

Um, GrinR it's NOT DOA4 or Tekken, it's a BOXING GAME, so running in is NOT something boxers do.

BTW, hold down the Right Trigger to block, it's that simple, the same way you hold down the Left Trigger to dodge.

Yes, the jabs are too slow, but I found the best way to fight is to mix up my hits and input. Use the buttons for jabs and quick punches and roll the right stick to throw uppercuts and more hard-hitting punches.

Yesh, it needs a bit of work in the camera for replays and some clipping issues, but I tell ya, from what I saw, I'M SOLD and I don't buy boxing games.

It's the first thing that doesn't look like you could hack it down to the Xbox and still retain "most" of the same feel.

Hell yeah, this little demo rocked. If they make a little improvement with jab speed and punch impact, I am sold!! Hell, I am sold now because you know some improvement will be made.

I'd like to see the clipping issues with the boxers trunks fixed, I'd like to see the insides of their mouths improved (you know a game is good looking when u complain about the inside of a characters mouth). But most importantly, they HAVE to make the crowd look better! What good is a awesome looking character model when you look a little to the left and have an unrealistic looking fan cheering...it hurts immersion.

Overall, this game has tons of potential...im going back to play right now! Roy Jones is faster, but Bernard Hopkins hits harder.
