The third expansion has been announced for the Sims sequel and this time it's about going into business. Players will be able to open their own store, choose the layout, merchandise, materials and employees. The aim is to keep the business afloat while keeping customers and staff happy. It's a chance for you to recreate your very own Clerks. You'll find the screenshots right here at Boomtown (http://pc.boomtown.net/en_uk/articles/art.view.php?id=10219).

I think I might actually get this expansion, since it seems pretty unique and interesting, as opposed to crappy demographic whoring time.

Wow, a Sims expansion that sounds cool? Amazing!
This makes me think Will Wright might actually have a hand in some of these expansions...

Meh. . . It will be the same damn game, but with more load screens.
I can't wait to have to juggle training employees, making relationships, greening up, and making merchandise for my shop! Woo! Of course, I'm sure I could just hack my stats to turn my Sim into a never-sleeping, always happy, work-horse, but when I've done that in the past, the "challenge" is lost and you realize that you are playing a game that is all about recycling 200 animations over and over through a point and click interface.
Don't get me wrong, I think The Sims and The Sims 2 were fun games, but the expansion packs don't really add much new gameplay. Just more crap and more animations.
I'll buy the expansion pack that adds new gameplay elements that are not just simple extensions of the core game. . . like how cool would it be if they added puzzle mini-games to some of the tasks that allow you to excel at them? Skill up twice as fast by doing a puzzle or make a dinner that is above your skill level by doing a good job.
Sims expansions are examples of what I generally dislike in expansions. . . I don't want more of the same. . . I want new things to do.
I guess owning your own shop is pretty cool though. . . I'm already regretting this purchase.
