IGN (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/981/981734p3.html) hits first and hits hard with their positively electrifying (and glowing) review of the PS3 exclusive open world game, inFamous. Their score? 9.2.

In December, I played Infamous for the first time and told you that it was awesome. Five months later, I'm standing by that statement and backing it up with about 30 hours of playtime. Cole's powers are cool, the graphic novel cutscenes are stunning, the story is intriguing, and the city is alive. I could go on and on about this game -- about my hunt for the final few Blast Shards, about the sick joy in blasting a pedestrian and then sucking his bio-energy, about the subtle Sly Cooper references -- but to truly appreciate what Sucker Punch has created, you'll have to sit down and play this game.

Infamous is amazing.

Sounds good to me Sucker Punch, now lets get back to Sly Cooper!

It's looking more and more like this will be a great year for the PlayStation 3.

The thing I was worried about most was the length. 30 hours sounds great.

He used to be your everyday bike messenger, but that all ended when he was delivering a package and the thing went off in his hands.

Oh great, another cookie-cutter delivery-boy-has-package-explode-in-his-hands game. C'mon, Sony.

Good for PS3 owners.

Still not getting one until a price cut, though.

I don't trust this reviewer. The game may be great, but having read the review, I'm not convinced. He gushes about the karma system and doesn't even mention combat in 3 pages

Ign can suck a dick with their reviews, but, then I leaned Sucker Punch is behind this and now I want it. Crackdown 1.5 with electricity? count me the fuck in.

Yay Sucker Punch! Of course I'm biased as two friends work there but YAY ANYWAY.

Personal associations aside, they have a very good record with previous games. Here's hopin'.

Waiting for Prototype, which just looks a lot better IMO.

I just looked at the entire review. 30 hours including both good/bad storylines.

If the bad story line isn't just the same story except with killing/different powers, then I might count it. If it is.... I guess now-a-days 15 hours is a LONG game, so don't know if I can complain too much. And I probably would play it a 2nd time.

Yeah, but 15 hours for an open world game? Sounds low to me. However I'm with Reanimated, waiting for Prototype. It just looks like so much fun. Then again if prototype turns out to suck and this continues to get good reviews, I might have to look into buying a ps3 some time soon.

I'm planning on getting Prototype along with inFamous. I'm betting will be around 15 hours as well.

This is also what I'm planning on doing. Both inFamous and Prototype are setting out to do similar things, but they have a distinctly different take on the idea. Despite the availability of a morality system, inFamous really wants to lean more toward the "good guy" side of things in the overall presentation while Prototype appears to be a more visceral, anti-hero experience.

Even though both games appear to be rather similar, I'll still snag both if the reviews and word-of-mouth are good.

Game looks great. (Saw a bunch of youtube vids) Can't wait.

(Prototype looks good as well and so does Red Faction. Seems to be a great year for Open World games)

Exclusive IGN review is positive?! NO WAI!

Honestly, I don't even need reviews on this on. It's Sucker Punch. That's about all I need to hear.

I heard a rumor that Amazon.com upgraded modeps's order of inFamous to 'Release day shipping.' What does he know that we don't know???

Color me a cynic. I read that Prototype was published by Activision and it dropped off my radar as a result.

Hah, are you serious?

How many delivery boy based games have you played?

I actually know Greg, he's a good guy. He came to IGN and one of his first reviews was for Lair, and we all know how that turned out. People got downright angry at his negativity, yo.

According to the post on the PS site that is 15 hours without the side quests, 35 story missions plus about 100 side missions. 25 hours in total.

Enough for me, pre-ordered!

I was really excited when I read their review. My brother and I have had a debate since Infamous was first announced. He say some footage on G4 and said the game was going to suck. He didn't like the graphics and he said it looked like a minor title with big publicity. I, on the other hand, said it was going to be a triple A exclusive for the PS3. It's good to be right.

What, as opposed to some other random asshole on the internet? I trust them as much as I trust any other review.

This game would probably make me buy a $299 PS3.

Either way, congrats PS3 owners, looks like you finally got an exclusive worth the money sony paid for it ;).

Both for me. Original superhero games are chock full of win.
