An onslaught of Mega Drive classics will find their way onto XBLA this summer. The PS3 won't get quite as much love but will still grab Gunstar Heroes to fill up the shelves. From 1up. (http://www.1up.com)

Sega has officially announced that Gunstar Heroes is coming to Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network, confirming rumors that began when the achievements were accidentally leaked. Sega isn't stopping there though.

Sega is also working on Altered Beast, Shinobi, Comix Zone, Phantasy Star II, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles. However, unlike Gunstar Heroes, they will only be released on the Xbox 360.

More here. (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3174159)

Sega have sold these so often I either have them on original cartridge (surprisingly many), collection disc or Virtual Console.

I was shocked and saddened at the omission of Gunstar Heroes on the Genesis Collection. Those and Revenge of Shinobi (obvious Marvel/DC licensing issues... cursed copyright zealots can't take a parody in videogame form. Movies and books and songs are okay, but a videogame? Nooooo...) and the Toejam and Earl games were glaring by their absence.

Too bad I will not be buying this as they shall likely charge $10 for it and that is just $5 too much.

Yup, it's official (in my world, anyway): Sega is that drunken old man on the street, yelling and gibbering about past glories.

And yes, any more than 400 points == graphical and sound updates for the game + online co-op. Slapping it in an emulator (probably written by Steve Snake heh) and turning on the HQ2X does not equal a $10 price tag.

That said: Gunstar Heroes is fucking awesome. Like much of Treasures stuff.

Why one one 3D revamp? Like Bionic Commando? That rulled.

Always the same games :(

Because that's a riskier project than just slapping the rom in with an emulator and making some quick bucks.

This isn't meant to sound snappy but have you played it before? It's just a great shooter that has a quirky story, some great levels and incredibly fluid gameplay.

It massages your game bones.

It makes more sense to buy Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (new for $30, less used) which already has Altered Beast, Comix Zone, Phantasy Star 2, and Sonic 3 - plus 36 other Sega games.

No it doesn't sound snappy, don't worry. However, I've played the game (bought it on Wii store), and was turned off by the terrible controls and the fact that it is just really a 'sorta OK' shooter overall, relative to what there is out there now.

It seems like more of a 'you had to be there' type thing, and I didn't grow up Sega.
