The first podcast around to discuss the closure of 3D Realms, and our love for Duke 3D. Additionally, a bit of talk about the tournament mode for Street Fighter 4, and DSiWare... which is currently a missed opportunity. We also get a little salty, in our first M-rated episode.

just think, if instead of talking about IP and marketing and the strength of the brand for 13 years (while admittedly getting some games out by other developers, like Max payne) they could have occasionally, made a game. Valve takes a long time, but they actually release something now and then. And they leveraged new content on a constant basis, buying up talent when they could. 3Drealms farted around too much.

When are they gonna get to the fireworks factory?

But seriously, Duke Nukem 3D was awesome because it offered (yes male, but how many chicks were playing Doom?) gamers many more options for FPS than what the famous Doom was providing. Really, Duke was always judged not by other games, but by how it stood up to Doom. Anyhow, with that in mind, Duke 3D was a great, and thorough extension to the more popular FPS.

You, friend, are a king among infidels. Exquisite use of the chocolate ice cream line as well... (that wasn't even supposed to be in the show hrmphruumis) :)

Wow, I just got SF4 in the mail today. Talk about timing.

Can you two really be that good?

The 3D Realms thing just dropped into our laps about an hour before we recorded. Talk about a gift!

As far as SF4 goes, yes, apparently we really are that good. ;)
