IGN AU is the first out of the gate with their review of the X-Men Origins: Wolverine videogame tie-in and scored it at a 6.9 after a pretty mixed barrage of criticism.
This game is single-handedly saved by a combat system that – just barely – makes killing the same handful of characters on each stage a joy. Combat is mapped to two face buttons – one a regular attack that doles out a standard claw-slash combo, and the other is a heavy attack that, when combined with the regular attack, gives you a few very tasty moves to play with. But add in a grapple button and jumping, and suddenly the combat becomes that much more interesting. However, that's just the barest basics.
...
See, the Sentinel fight that follows – the one fans have been waiting for - sucks.
Flat-out, straight up sucks. Sorry to crush fanboy dreams everywhere, but no – you don't get to latch onto that sucker and scale it with your claws as you might expect. Rather, you hang around by its feet, dodging shockwaves that send you flying as waves of sorry grunts run at you, getting in your way (but providing a near-limitless supply of Rage Orbs). You flap around at its enormous feet, slashing off micrometres from its health bar, waiting for an opening to do some damage. This only comes when you get picked up in its Volkswagen-sized mitts, and you get to slash at its fingers furiously. Finally, after several rounds of this, both hands fall off and it's back to inflicting damage at ground level.

We'll see how it goes with other reviews but it sounds like a good rental.
